Gustavo Lira always gives everyone in the room a unique experience. We learn, we laugh, we enjoy wines that we probably would have missed along the way. Food, charcuterie plate, is offered for an extra charge, and is very good. Occasionally Gustavo includes food with the tasting or a pairing with a chef. This is not a snobbish approach to wine. It’s inviting.

Over the years, Gus has introduced me and my family to a variety of outstanding wines and often to the remarkable people behind the wines. Gus features different cultures, regions, and varietals and sometimes integrates the experience with music selections, food pairings, slides, and more. Would definitely come back again! Gustavo was professional and friendly, he knew his wines! Loved how intimate the setting is. I think what would make it even better is serving some cheese or a little snack with the tasting. It was nice how Gustavo accommodated us with our requests! It is great to have a local spot for tastings. Gus knows the wines and the winemakers.
This is not always the case at The Bottle Shop but the wines seemed overpriced for the quality. My rating of the value is for the tasting, not the wines.
It would be good to have water (next time we will bring our own) and a container to pour unused wine into.
Also, Gus should interact with everyone. He does better on the Zoom tastings.
