We came to bake & roast for our son’s first birthday after a day at the farm. The staff were so welcoming and lovely we were running late and they kept the kitchen open for us. They made it very special and the cakes were delicious!! We will definitely return thank you! ☺️

First class as usual. The food is excellent and presented in a lovely way. The staff are excellent and they have a good rapport with the customers. The setting is very pleasant and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for quality home made cooking. Nothing is too much trouble and I am a regular customer. It is a great experience . The food (my favourite is the ploughmans} is fabulous and the museum is thought provoking. Especially if you look back through the family tree and work out that Oliver Cromwell was distantly related to our present King Charles ? ?

Extremely friendly staff. Beautiful setting. Went out of their way to accommodate our large group. Drinks weren't hot enough despite requesting extra hot, nevertheless it didn't spoil the experience. Maybe bring out the cakes first followed by the drinks so that the drinks don't get cold while waiting for the cakes . Would highly recommend.

Had to postpone my visit so contacted owners who kindly acknowledged, so met a friend there on Wednesday. Although the menu was limited and I understand why, we found enough to choose from. I tried the famous sausage roll which was delicious , followed on by the special cream scone. Very well presented and my only "negative" would be that there was little room on the wooden platter and I would love to see cheese scones.

Thoroughly enjoyed lunch. Definitely come again perhaps for breakfast menu. Being picky -“Ambience” would have been 10 if table wasn’t in full sun. Appreciate that blinds wouldn’t be in keeping with style of the Hall and blot out the lovely view. Perhaps summer/winter positioning of tables?

Excellent as usual. Lovely staff who make you feel very welcome. Good food. Excellent venue and would recommend it to anyone. In July have booked an afternoon tea. Looking forward to that.

Lovely situation overlooking Smithills Hall gardens. Light, bright and airy room. Excellent and pleasant service. Reasonable prices, varied menu and delicious food. Highly recommended!
