I took my daughter and her friend out for a meal to celebrate the end of term. We decided to sit outside on the terrace and the ambience was lovely. It was cosy and warm and the Christmas decorations added to the experience. There was a slight delay for the food to arrive. But once it arrive at our table, it was delicious. I would definitely recommend Oliver and Thyme to family and friends.

Service was very slow for a Sunday.. Had to wait a while to receive our food and get our bill.
Ordered Lamb chops for the first time and found the meat to be very chewy.
The bread wasn’t the best . It was extremely flaky.
I would suggest better quality Lamb chops and shish Chunks

The staff were excellent, attentive without being overbearing. Scores have been marked down as it’s was far too warm in the restaurant, uncomfortable at times. Anytime the front door was opened it was refreshing to get some cooler air. Turning the heating down slightly would have made for a more enjoyable dining experience and also save some money on your heating bill. Other than that had a fantastic meal and will definitely be back. Just turn the heating down next time.

The food is great but the service is very slow. We waited half an hour after we arrived for someone to come & take a food & drink order. The food itself came quickly but once the plates had been cleared we were ignored for ages, to the point I had to go to the bar to order more drinks, which we were told would come over then a few minutes later someone came over to recheck what we wanted. It wasn’t that busy so not sure why the service was like that, however bigger tables seemed to get more attentive service. I really like the food there so I will be back but unfortunately always seem to have the same issue with service.

The table to seat ratio isn't the greatest. The seats are too low for the table and don't offer comfortable seating unless you're someone very tall.
Also, given the website for online reservations specifically asks if it's for a special occasion, I was expecting some sort of acknowledgement for it. It was my wedding anniversary and I had mentioned this on my booking, so I was expecting some simple decor atleast (candlelight or balloons, or flower petals, just anything really) but was disappointed to find nothing. So what is the point of specifically asking for occasions if the restaurant will do nothing to celebrate it?!

First visit to this very nice establishment, as we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff. Sitting on the street terrace on a warm night was very pleasant, the menu is varied with steaks, fish, chicken and vegetarian options. The lamb sizzlers were delicious, my sea bass was the best I've had. Good variety of drinks and a friendly professional staff made for a great night !!

I was treated so disgusting on Saturday evening, I arrived at the restaurant as I come quite often I thought I bring a work colleague as am telling her about the restaurant all the time.. me and my colleague ordered starters and main that when the dish for avocado chicken came out it had a creamy milky sauce that doesn't state on the menu is my work colleague is in fact high allergic to cteam and milk lactose intolerance cause a serve attack to come on if consumed as i told the waitress about the about the dish i suggested to to changebthenthe dish because if the allergy then i remebered when we ordered she was suppose to ask about any allergys before taking a ordear as i have stated aboce thisbwas a terrible dining experience that yook place on saturday the 23rd april also being chef myself Iamutterly disgusted with the service from the front of house staff the menu does not state creamy sauce on the chicken avercardo dish i my colleague did not even eat with me.. that out us off are whole meal the waitress didn't even offered a complimentary starter or another dish i was still payying for me meal but she insisted we couldn't change the meal she was moaning about she didn't want to get shouted at i was stating that the customer can not consum the dish do to health i couldn't believe what i was hearing the front of house service are foul.. very bid disappointment and let down olive and tyme

We’d to be clear on your policy for drinks - in the last month we were told it was ok to bring own drinks, so also bought in own drinks this time when I was told it wasn’t permitted this time!! Had the rules changed since my previous visit? Need to be sure to check that number table cutlery settings and napkins match the number of people sitting to eat - this went unnoticed even after the starters were brought out and we had to ask for another set of cutlery. Need to clear tables soon as finished . Took too long to take orders also noticed other tables waiting long time to place order. Then took ages for main meal to arrive - restaurant wasn’t busy so don’t know why took so long!

Had to ask for more drink orders after the initial first one and after the food was served there was no follow up to ask if everything was ok. On the positive side, we loved the food and the decor is excellent.

Been here many times and normally the service and food is excellent but on this occasion we felt it could have been better. 10min wait stood at doorway to be seated even though we’d booked in advance.
Our main meals arrived whilst we were still eating our starters.
Asked for my lamb chops to be cooked to medium and they were sadly over cooked and dry. No steak knife offered.
Had to wait and get someone’s attention so we could order more drinks.
And again when we wanted to pay we had a while to wait to get staff member’s attention.
It’s a lovely restaurant with great value food but just missed that personal touch on this occasion.

As lovely as the staff are, they were not as present and aware as usual.
