The service was excellent as was the food, the waitress/waiter were all friendly and attentive. I have a 2 year old and the lovely gentleman brought him some crayons to keep him occupied as did the outside play area. The general atmosphere of the place was relaxed, friendly and welcoming.

The Sunday roast was excellent. Such a large portion and cooked to perfection. So lovely to be able to enjoy fresh vegetables which weren't overcooked. Huge homemade Yorkshire puddings. The Gammon was delicious. My husband had the 3 meat roast, but felt he would have had more meat by just having the one meat option. The puddings, while delicious, were obviously bought-in. Homemade would have been even better. With the exception of one woman, (who has never smiled on the two occasions we have been to The Horseshoe), the staff were very friendly and attentive. Will definitely return.

We had a very good experience in very pleasant and seasonal surroundings. I thought the restaurant would have been busier although there were many customers enjoying the overall atmosphere . The food was delicious and there was an excellent variety to choose from. With the greater number of customers I would have preferred a little more personal service, we were not asked during the meal if everything was OK, a small thing but a hugely important one when you are a customer.

Visited here for Father’s Day with my family and my dad was taken poorly whilst eating his meal, the staff were absolutely fantastic and so helpful when my dad wasn’t very well. We couldn’t thank the staff enough for the help they gave us. Will definitely return so my dad can enjoy the meal without leaving half! Thank you!

Table of 5 for Sunday lunch. We all had roast dinners (1 x Turkey, 2 x Beef & 2 x Ham) which were hot & delicious. Particularly liked that we all had a Yorkshire Pudding with our roasts. The service was excellent & all the staff were polite & efficient. Will definitely be returning.

Food was delicious, service slow but it was Mother’s Day so busy and, therefore, understandable. Only thing that was really poor was the cappuccino ordered at the end of the meal which was like a cup of hot water and milk with so little coffee you couldn’t taste it, this was returned and exchanged for a fresh cup but that wasn’t much better… I actually asked if they’d run out of coffee! Other than the coffee, I highly recommend. I have recently moved to the area and this venue is just on my doorstep so intend to visit regularly. I probably won’t order coffee again

One meal didn’t arrive. There was no real attempt to apologize for this. We weren’t asked if we wanted more drinks after our initial order. Food was generally nice, but service was lacking. Waitresses weren’t impolite, perhaps just lacking experience maybe.

I do like The Horseshoe. We had whitebait to start which was very nice. Shame that the tartare sauce was a sachet though. My partner had the roast turkey which was excellent. I had the lamb shank which was ok but seemed overcooked and a little dry and hard which was a shame particularly as it was expensive. The veg was great. Was a little disappointed that the 2 puddings that we would have liked had run out. The service was very pleasant. Overall i like it here and would come again
