Had a lovely dinner w some girlfriends at La Svolta. Their eggplant parmigiana is, IMHO, the best in Bayside - and that coming from a dedicated carnivore! The only thing that could be improved is the rocket and parmesan salad. It used to include thin slivers of pear which made the salad a real stand-out dish, but sadly the menu has been changed, not sure why?

Excellent service as per usual. Great relaxed dining. Wait staff professional and friendly. My husband had the lamb cutlets stunning flavour and cooked to perfection. My crab risotto was too salty and overcooked. Grains mushed, portion too large, lost heat quickly by plating on a flat plate. Nevertheless we love this restaurant!

What a relief to finally be able to eat in a warm, bustling Melbourne restaurant. A bit disappointed that the serving times rush customers in order to make way for the second sitting, but those rules will hopefully be a thing of the past soon. Great food, swift service and friendly reminders to move on at the end of our allotted time. We wished we could have stayed longer.

La Svolta had live music when we arrived and this was not mentioned on the website. Unfortunately we had to leave as my elderly parents couldn’t cope with the noise. This was very distressing for them as we had to look for another restaurant which wasn’t easy as most local restaurants were booked out. La Svolta needs to state on their website that they have live music so it doesn’t happen to other patrons.

Food as usual was delicious, pizza absolutely amazing. Service was a let down this time, guy literally dropped the plate with pizza on the table, didn’t ask who was having what and just put the plates in front of anyone SO we had to hand each other’s meals over the table to each other. One dessert came out, the other 2 took another 15 minutes, was extremely delicious when it arrived.
