It was easy and very convenient to use the table agent app. We were greeted at the door with a smile. Our table was ready. Our server was upbeat and took great care of us. All the food was delicious and fresh and loved the bar.

Wonderful service and excellent food! We so enjoyed the Lenten fish special and our server was exceptional! The cod was perfectly cooked, batter light and crispy. Coleslaw and fries were excellent as well! This was our first visit to Manitou and our overall comments - we will be back!

Table of 5 - we ALL enjoyed our meals very much… and the bread pudding for dessert. The waitperson was FANTASTIC, though, and that’s what took our first visit with you over the top. I’m sorry I didn’t get her name, but she has “Irish twins “, if that helps.

I had dinner at Manitou a couple of weeks ago with friends as we couldn’t get a reservation at another WBL restaurant that we usually go to. The fish and chips were great and so I recommended to another friend that we have lunch at Manitou yesterday. We both had fish and chips. The food was consistent with the last time I ordered it. I requested my fries to be crispy and they were perfect. My friend was very pleased with the meal and we agreed that we’d like to come back for fish and chips as well as try other menu items. Really good food and service! Keep doing whatever you’re doing to make it happen!

Delicious fish, firm but flaky with the fork. The batter was deep fried perfectly. We could only eat the 3 pieces brought on the first plate but still a good value at under $16. The service was great and plenty of room in the dining area. We will be back

We went there for the Friday Fish Fry. Was above expectations. The place is very nice and clean, the staff were exceptional, and the food was good. We all order the all you can eat Cod Fish fry, and the batter was crispy, this fish was good, and the portions were AWESOME!! The plate comes with 3 HUGE filets. When re-ordering, they ask how many for the table and we all ordered 1 more. I figured, like lost fish fry’s I would put down 8+ little filets…NOPE…not here. 4 was MORE than plenty, but for the price, I would definitely eat there again!!!

We hadn't been to this restaurant for many years and decided to give it a try as we frequent Gabe's in St Paul and heard the owners are the same, so we tried it for a Friday Fish Fry. It was excellent! The inside of the restaurant is very inviting and they have a huge patio which I look forward to trying out this summer. We were very pleased with the full experience here and have another reservation for this week! I think it is going to be one of our "go to" places from now on!

The noise levels made it impossible to have a conversation. More noise dampening is needed.
Totally unimpressed with the fish fry. The cole slaw was tasteless. I make cole slaw every week and the fact is that cabbage with no seasoning is just cabbage. Try some Dijon mustard, vinegar, salt, pepper and a bit of sugar; simple and tasty. The fish breading was nice and crisp but salty, which overwhelmed any other flavor if there was one. The cod on its own was good. The tartar sauce was underwhelming and the French fries were limp. All 6 of us ordered the fish fry and we all agreed that we won’t do it again. In fact, while sitting there we made plans to go back to a different place where the fish, cole slaw and fixings are all great.
The amount of food was appropriate.
We did love our waitress, she had a great personality and was tipped accordingly.
I had hoped for better. The food looked good, but that’s where it stopped.

My only suggestion is to turn the music down. It was too loud even before it got crowded. But then as it got crowded people had to talk so loud to talk over the music. So the ambience was too loud. Everything else was great!

The ambience and cocktails were great. The food wasn’t good, and the service was just okay. My food wasn’t good but I couldn’t complain to anyone because the server didn’t come back. The salad looked like something I made at home, the chicken was dry and cut into slices stuck back together with cheese and fatty lunch meat. It wasn’t even a whole chicken breast, and it was slapped on a cold bun.

1. The reservation form asked if it was a celebration—I brought my friend who was celebrating her 84th birthday. It was not acknowledged in any way. Why ask?
2. The food was very good and we enjoyed our unhurried visit in a nice atmosphere.
3. The service needs much improvement. We were basically ignored in a very empty restaurant! She didn’t earn the 20% tip I left. I know, every place is short staffed but my friend chose this place & I felt like I let her down on her 84th birthday.
