Located on West Main Street, just steps away from the center of town, The Mariner serves traditional New England fare specializing in local seafood. We are a seafood and American restaurant located right in the middle of lovely downtown Mystic. We offer casual dining, a full pub menu, and comfort foods for all. We specialize in sports fans and offer a variety of games on all of our televisions.
The food was exceptional, our party of 4 all left very happy and satisfied with all of our selections - the halibut was the special and sat on top of roasted cauliflower and just melted in your mouth; scallops were also a hit as was the ravioli and to top it all off the desserts were just scrumptious - 10/10!!
Great place and very good waitress! It was a little too noisy since there was a large table of young adults partying. All in all great time and food was delicious
Everything was great.
Loved our meal and we felt very safe and cared for amid this COVID pandemic. Food was excellent and our server, Michelle was superb!
The Halibut special was cooked to perfection and the fried fresh local fish was really tasty.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant!!
Awesome hot lobster rolls and French fries! Great food and great service.
Great dinner! The swordfish special was delicious! Great service too.
Our first visit to the restaurant. Friendly staff. The lobster roll was delicious. My husband’s steak was perfect.we enjoyed our meal and will be back.
I enjoyed the food. The staff was pleasant. I wish so many items on the menu weren’t unavailable. The Mariner should know to stock better for a holiday weekend. Still, I can’t dock the grade, as I understand COVID must have been a factor.
What a great lunch! Food was amazing! Ingrid was the best, so excited to visit again in the fall!! I hope we get Ingrid again. Awesome place and one of our favorites to visit in mystic!
The food was excellent. It was busy but the service again was pleasant and excellent
Amazing food and service!
I had scallops with the roasted corn and zucchini. It was delicious. I called it “summer on a plate”
Great experience all around. They were able to accommodate us outside under the overhang even while it was raining. Everything we ordered was delicious. Would return.
Pamela H was a fantastic server. We started with 6 Mystic Oysters and Arancini. for dinner Fish and Chips and the Stonington Scallops.Everything was outstanding! A couple of Tito's and Thimble Island American Lagers made for a great evening. Thank you we will be back!
This was our 1st time in Mystic & the little gem was perfect to see the town & have dinner...food was amazing...had the lobster salad & there were huge chunks of lobster to enjoy...we were a party of 2 tables of 5 & there was something for everyone...our waitress Pamela was lovely
Wonderful food. Doing the best they can during Covid. Outdoor dining in back adorable. Jaime the waiter was wonderful. I love it here. Open year round. Drinks are amazing. Lobster rolls too!!
Excellent! Cream of crab was yummy and the lobster roll was great! Excellent service too!
Overall a great experience! Wonderful dining experience our first night in Mystic!
Incredible dining experience. Great food, great drinks, great service!
The food and service were excellent.
The food was beyond our expectations. This was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had.
Great food and ambiance!!
Every single time we dine at the Mariner, it is always perfect! Love the staff and the food is great!
Great place to dine in mystic
Very friendly staff and tasty food!
This was only the second restaurant that we've tried since the state has started to open back up. We were thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness, service, and food. We ate outside which was very comfortable as they had umbrellas set up for shade. We will definitely return when we want lobster rolls and clams again!
My boyfriend and I came just for the jumbo lobster rolls and they where AMAZING. We sat at the back patio, which left a little to be desired as it's in a parking lot, but other then that absolutely exceptional service and delicious food!
Scallops just a little too salty
The Lobster Rolls were small and delicious, with a lot of butter. They were expensive , but that is to be expected. Our waiter was excellent.
Delicious, well thought out and executed dishes.
I picked this restaurant because it was rated #1. I do not feel that this rating is accurate at all. The food was just good, not amazing. The lobster roll was delicious but small as ever! Unacceptable for New England.
We had made a reservation and were seated on time. Had preferred and requested to sit outside but got a table inside which was fine. We were near the door so a bit busy but the food and our waitress were excellent! Our waitress (I believe Ingrid) was very personable and knowledgeable and our dinners (hot lobster roll and shrimp scampi) were delicious!! Great pick for dinner when we were visiting Mystic for the evening!
The staff at the mariner were very accommodating during the covid pandemic in the month of August. Staff was attentive to being safe and clean. Food was good, don't expect bread and butter on the table, or bread at all to dunk in your mussels. Service was good and hostess made sure to accommodate us even though no one knew about the online reservation. The restaurant had a very nice ambiance which fit in with the seaport theme. The prices were average, but I'm from NYC so I wouldn't really know that. When I come visit again I will go back to dine with them.
The soup was delicious but the lobster roll was just OK. No seasoning and roll could have been grilled a bit for some crunch. The fries were not crisp, and the side of slaw was literally about a tablespoon. Really could have been better in amount and presentation.
Had the aged steak and was a very poor cut. Did not complain but wish we had, was un edible
We were so thrilled by our last visit that this one could only suffer in comparison. It did. But only a little. The roasted chicken special was delicious, the halibut slightly over cooked but still tasty.
Food, drinks and waiter were excellent once we were seated outside. Front of house was a disaster. Hostess and the manager (I think) were running around cleaning and setting tables. They were obviously working very hard, but it made for a very slow and disorganized situation for patrons. I would suggest having another host and busboy or 2 on busy nights.
