Frequently Asked Questions- Do you have outdoor seating available?
- Yes, our outdoor summer patio is open! We also have three tables located outside in the front of our restaurant. Outdoor tables are available on a first come, first serve basis. Please see our host in the front of the restaurant for availability questions and seating!

- Where is parking located for your restaurant?
- Parking can be found in the paid parking lot adjacent to our restaurant; entrance for this parking lot is on Water Street in front of the Mystic Art Association. Parking can also be found on the street side throughout downtown Mystic.
- Do you accept reservations?
- Yes; reservations can be taken online or via telephone for indoor seating only. Our patio is first come first serve; however, if we have outdoor tables available at the time your arrive for your reservation we are happy to transition you outside at that time.
- Do you allow dogs on your outdoor patio?
- Yes! Dogs are allowed on both our outdoor rear patio and at the three tables located outside in the front of our restaurant. Outdoor seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Very comfortable,and casual.
It was a little chilly sitting in front by the door.
The staff was excellent and The clam chowder is the best I ever tasted!
We both had the broiled scallops which were good but the pureed peas and broccolini to us,were an aquired taste.
We enjoyed excellent desserts. Tiramisu and the berry shortcake were delicious.
I'd definitely fine there again.

The Mariner was a very nice restaurant inside and out, right in the heart of downtown. The food, thought it looked great online, did not compare in person.
The lobster roll did not look as advertised, as it was on a hot dog roll and not a brioche bun. I expected what was on the Phantom Gourmet video, not what I got. It was still tasty though!
My wife got the filet tips. She ordered them medium well (being safe because she is pregnant). They came well done, but were not tough. The whipped mashed potatoes where over mixed as they were gummy.
Had higher hopes for this restaurant. Maybe it was just an off night or we came at a busy time.

Reservation easily done during a busy Labor Day weekend. Service was spot on. Bar area seating was nice. Bowl of clam chowder arrive luke warm. Sent back and returned piping hot (too hot to eat). I'm sure there is a happy medium that can be sought. Partners meal was hot lobster roll with a substitute side of Caesar salad instead of french fries. Everything there was good. Bill arrive and noticed that there was a $2.00 upcharge for substituting the salad for the fries. Not very pleased since this substitute was suggested by the waitstaff but no mention of the upcharge. All in all a good meal but will seek other places in the future.

This was a great place to have dinner. I would have rated it as 10 if it hadn’t been for two issues. The first was that my delicious scallops were served on room temperature risotto. I didn’t send it back because I wanted to eat dinner at the same time as my husband. The second issue was that we had to send the bill back twice. The first time was just a mix-up. The bill for another table came to us and it was so large (more than twice what ours should have been) that I caught it immediately. When they corrected our bill, it came with an item that we hadn’t ordered. I know that restaurants can make mistakes, but the second error of $11.00 was one that I think we could have missed if we hadn’t played very close attention.

We had a 5:30p reservation and were greeted quickly at check in and sat promptly. Our server was friendly and he was knowledgeable on the specials of the day. Our entrees came out just in time for us to finish our clam chowders. My steak tips were tender and full of flavor and the fried clam strips did not disappoint. We visit once or twice a year coming from Farmington and we have yet to have a bad experience. Keep up the great work in presentation, esthetics, service and quality of food!

Great service, fast and friendly, and excellent food. We went twice, Friday and Sunday and both times I had the lobster roll and my wife had the fried scallops. Great portions and good fries. Started by splitting the unbelievably good clam chowder. What I noticed about the chowder, besides how awesome it is, is that it came at a temperature I could eat it rather soon, it wasn't crazy hot which I enjoyed. Definitely going back.

Took our recommendations from multiple sources and decided on here for our 10th anniversary meal. We had two cocktails, both were delicious. For an appetizer, I had three oysters, and for dinner I had the lobster roll and my wife had the autumn scallops. The oysters were great, though a bit small (maybe time of season?). My lobster roll was smaller than I thought it would be. While the lobster was tasty, the roll was too thick for the ratio of lobster to bread, in my opinion. My wife did not enjoy her scallops, as (I can confirm) they tasted funny. Overall, the dinner wasn’t anything to write home about, and in retrospect, I think I would have preferred the restaurant at The Whaler instead.

Everything about The Mariner was exceptional. Our server made us feel welcome and treated us as if we were regulars (It was our first visit.). The cocktails were wonderful, the wedge salad very tasty, and my cup of NewEngland clam chowder was delicious and full of clams in each spoonful. But the main dishes were beyond all expectations. The local grilled scallops were sweet and fresh and my spaghetti fra diavalo was incredible—plentiful shrimp, mussels, and lobster in a spicy, rich fra diavolo sauce. I loved it. My one regret was that we had no room for dessert. We will definitely be back.

Wondering if you have a new chef since our visit last Sept? The food was not attractively plated. Additionally, when we have scallops in the Mystic area (we come to GLP for the month Sept every year) they’re almost large versus the 5 very, very small scallops that I had at the Mariner. They were not seared, they were somewhat greasy.
We have always enjoyed all our dining experiences at the Mariner but not this last one.

My scores of “9” do not represent any disappointment or concern, the scores simply indicate that my friend and I thought everything about our experience was very nice. We loved that our reservation provided a nice table right by the window on a sunny lovely day. Our waitress was wonderful, the lobster roll lunch we each had was just what we wanted and very nicely prepared. The restaurant was very busy, a little darker than I enjoy for daytime, which is why our table was perfect. The bathroom was very clean. And the manager/owner came to talk with us toward the end of our lunch and shared info about some changes that will be made to the restaurant. Also, we appreciated the expanded opening schedule, so our reservation was a smart decision! We will gladly return on our next visit to Mystic! Thank you, Cheryl

Great meal. The restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing. Very clean and well kept. Bathroom was spotless. Had a perfect view of the street, other shops and passerby. The food was excellent! It was a Friday night, so it was noisy. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait in the bar, and basically had to remind them that we were still waiting for a table. Once that was settled, the service was friendly and efficient.

We arrived a few minutes early for our 7:30 reservation and were seated right away. Our waiter, Magic, was attentive, enthusiastic, and welcoming. He took our order promptly and checked in on us regularly. Everything was served as ordered and the food was delicious. The hot Lobster Roll is not to be missed! We also enjoyed the fresh catch of the day which happened to be sea bass and it was outstanding. We will definitely be back next time we are in Mystic!

The food was good, the service was very good. The ambience would've been better had their AC been working. Hottest day of the year and they couldn't even be bothered putting in fans or something to get the air moving in the restaurant. It made it hard to enjoy the meal.

The piece if filet mignon was extremely small for the $37 price tag, and salty. Fish and chips and fried clam plates were excellent. Very dim and dark in the restaurant unless you were sitting by one of the front windows.

We love the Mariner! The atmosphere is great. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. Our server JESS was wonderful. Do not lose her. She is a Gem! We had the creole seafood chowder previously, and ordered it again. We were not disappointed. It was fantastic. The spaghetti fra diavolo was amazing. What an experience! We will be back.
