Frequently Asked Questions- Do you have outdoor seating available?
- Yes, our outdoor summer patio is open! We also have three tables located outside in the front of our restaurant. Outdoor tables are available on a first come, first serve basis. Please see our host in the front of the restaurant for availability questions and seating!

- Yes, we do!
- Where is parking located for your restaurant?
- Parking can be found in the paid parking lot adjacent to our restaurant; entrance for this parking lot is on Water Street in front of the Mystic Art Association. Parking can also be found on the street side throughout downtown Mystic.
- Do you accept reservations?
- Yes; reservations can be taken online or via telephone for indoor seating only. Our patio is first come first serve; however, if we have outdoor tables available at the time your arrive for your reservation we are happy to transition you outside at that time.
- Do you allow dogs on your outdoor patio?
- Yes! Dogs are allowed on both our outdoor rear patio and at the three tables located outside in the front of our restaurant. Outdoor seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Reservation easily done during a busy Labor Day weekend. Service was spot on. Bar area seating was nice. Bowl of clam chowder arrive luke warm. Sent back and returned piping hot (too hot to eat). I'm sure there is a happy medium that can be sought. Partners meal was hot lobster roll with a substitute side of Caesar salad instead of french fries. Everything there was good. Bill arrive and noticed that there was a $2.00 upcharge for substituting the salad for the fries. Not very pleased since this substitute was suggested by the waitstaff but no mention of the upcharge. All in all a good meal but will seek other places in the future.

Lovely restaurant. Comfortable ambiance, engaged service, interesting menu choices. On a December midweek evening it was about a third full and we enjoyed a very good meal of oysters, lobster roll, and scallops. If we return to Mystic we would certainly return.

I love on Long Island, but I have visited the Mariner 3 times. The first time, there was a spicy pork ragu special (I think with gnocchi and a few small dollops of ricotta). That was the best meal of my entire life, so I went back a few years later, and the pork ragu was part of an appetizer, so I ordered that. It was, again, amazing. On this trip, I ordered the Rigatoni with sausage ragu, which tasted just as amazing as the pork ragu. My only suggestion would be to offer it as the special was offered—with gnocchi and a few aesthetic dollops of ricotta.
The rigatoni, too, was very hard, but I’m not sure if it was undercooked or if the house made pasta is always a bit on the harder side.
I hope I can visit again very soon— The Mariner is one of my favorite restaurants. (And the service and ambience were both incredible!)

Food, drinks and waiter were excellent once we were seated outside.
Front of house was a disaster. Hostess and the manager (I think) were running around cleaning and setting tables. They were obviously working very hard, but it made for a very slow and disorganized situation for patrons. I would suggest having another host and busboy or 2 on busy nights.

The Mariner was a very nice restaurant inside and out, right in the heart of downtown. The food, thought it looked great online, did not compare in person.
The lobster roll did not look as advertised, as it was on a hot dog roll and not a brioche bun. I expected what was on the Phantom Gourmet video, not what I got. It was still tasty though!
My wife got the filet tips. She ordered them medium well (being safe because she is pregnant). They came well done, but were not tough. The whipped mashed potatoes where over mixed as they were gummy.
Had higher hopes for this restaurant. Maybe it was just an off night or we came at a busy time.

Had a reservation but was not taken on time. Our server was very nice. The food was delicious! Social distancing could have been done a little better, as it was not 6 feet. Our waitress was great and the decor was very nice. Meals came out promptly with no wait time. However the food was a bit bland. Crabcake was very soft and mushy. I rarely require salt for my food however the Risotto dish required a lot of salt and pepper to give it some flavor. Surprised there wasn’t any bread provided.

A very pleasant experience overall. I requested a window seat in my reservation -- that was not discussed when I arrived, and we were given a middle table, although we were able to move to a window. The food was generally delicious, although the lobster roll was a bit fishy tasting, and the fish from the fish and chips a bit greasy. The salad and drinks were great. The menu might be slightly expanded to offer more seafood items. The staff was very nice and friendly. I look forward to returning again.

This was a great place to eat! Everything tasted wonderful and the service was excellent. The seating was attractive and I liked that the TV area was petitioned off from the dining area. Honestly, it was a perfect experience. Our server, Pam, was wonderful- very attentive and friendly! The food and drinks were superb. Honestly, the only thing I can even nitpick about is that our entrees came out a little too fast, before we had the chance to finish our appetizer. But honestly, I’d rather have it come too fast than wait a long time. Thank you to The Mariner for a lovely Valentine’s Day!

We had a 5:30p reservation and were greeted quickly at check in and sat promptly. Our server was friendly and he was knowledgeable on the specials of the day. Our entrees came out just in time for us to finish our clam chowders. My steak tips were tender and full of flavor and the fried clam strips did not disappoint. We visit once or twice a year coming from Farmington and we have yet to have a bad experience. Keep up the great work in presentation, esthetics, service and quality of food!

Great service, fast and friendly, and excellent food. We went twice, Friday and Sunday and both times I had the lobster roll and my wife had the fried scallops. Great portions and good fries. Started by splitting the unbelievably good clam chowder. What I noticed about the chowder, besides how awesome it is, is that it came at a temperature I could eat it rather soon, it wasn't crazy hot which I enjoyed. Definitely going back.

Ordered lobster roll/requested meat cold. Cold but swimming in mayo. Side of coleslaw was a large thimble full like ketchup. Was it supposed to be a condiment instead of a side?
Plate was covered in french fries. Spare the mayo and fries and bring on some coleslaw. Greatly disappointed.

The Mariner offered us imaginative and well prepared food for our dinner at a reasonable price. We enjoyed wings, seafood fritters, scallops, and swordfish, all very tasty. Service was efficient and friendly. Definitely a great dinner spot in Mystic.

Friendly staff, excellent service fabulous food! What's not to love?
I was able to make a reservation and we were seated immediately upon arrival (on time). The staff was very welcoming, knowledgeable and willing to spend time answering questions. We will definitely go back. My favorite is the fact that they offer a reasonable number of selections. I didn't feel overwhelmed viewing the menu. Thank you for great food, lovely ambiance and outstanding service!
