Love La Tazzina! Really great pastas, best I have had anywhere. Made fresh to order and you can really taste the difference. Lovely ambience, real Italian feel in the restaurant, but not pretentious. Visit here from London every time we are in York.

Authentic food, carefully and lovingly prepared and served by staff who are welcoming and patient. The portions are generous, great for my husband but overwhelming for me!
I would appreciate the choice of smaller portions, currently I cannot manage to finish all I am served.

What a find …Great Italian restaurant. Felt like we were sitting in a cafe in Rome .Food was amazing. The chef even added some pasta to my chicken Milanese , which was the biggest I’ve ever seen. My husband had the lamb which was delicious and his veggies were a delight.

This restaurant is amazing! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Our table was ready for us when we arrived (I had a reservation). It was a very busy night though with people being turned away, and our children flagged towards the end as there was a delay in our food arriving. I mentioned it to the staff who immediately brought out some complimentary breads/olives to keep them going. When the food arrived it was delicious. Definitely freshly prepared and high quality. Had we not had our children with us we wouldn’t have minded the delay as the food was worth waiting for. We had a pizza, 2 pasta dishes, a tomato bread and the mussels. Soft drinks and a bottle of wine. All up £90.00 ish which is a decent price for 4 for an evening meal. My children have adult size appetites! Will definitely return when we are back in York.

Another excellent visit. A warm, welcoming cosy place where, despite being small does not feel crowded due to careful placing of the tables. The front of house staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. Food was excellent as always, and the range of craft beers, wines, non alcoholic drinks etc extensive to cater for all tastes. The ambience is relaxed and informal with a lovely buzz. It offers excellent value for money and feels like a hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre.

I’ve been twice in the last couple of weeks. The first time the ambience was amazing and it was mainly due to a staff member (possibly the owner) with blonde hair who was lively and friendly and was dancing with customers and great with children which made the experience really special. It was a lot quieter the second time but still enjoyed the food. I’d definitely recommend to friends.
