Really enjoyable experience from this hidden gem. Started with the combinacion gaucho, pork rib, empanada & chorizo sausage. Also shared some nachos topped with minced beef. All were delicious. We all had the 14oz ribeye which were cooked to perfection and came with fries and salad. Shared a nice Rioja and shared Panqueque for dessert- pancake, ice cream, whipped cream & chocolate. Authentic Argentinian steakhouse that’s definitely worth a visit

What a lovely restaurant!! The guys who were waiting table were absolutely brilliant and certainly knew their stuff. The steaks we ordered were cooked to perfection and so very tasty. We were visitors to York and went to El Gaucho on recommendation from someone who lives locally. Also recommended by a staff member at our hotel. We will certainly visit again when we return to York and for a restaurant to be so busy on a Monday (although this did not affect the level of service or the quality of the food) is recommendation enough

Outstanding. The food and service was superb. A really excellent steak, the chicken with mushroom sauce was delightful. Portion sizes were large, so unfortunately no room for dessert which looked great. After visiting one our last night in York, I just wished I lived closer so I could go back.
