We were seated on time, but after ordering within minutes, we waited 35 minutes for edamame and miso (which was served right next to where we were sitting already prepared). We asked for roll recommendations, she recommended the two most expensive rolls on the menu and they weren’t that great, especially after waiting almost an hour for our food. They were out of the sake I ordered, and the recommended replacement was triple the price. We won’t be going back anytime soon.

Terrible service, took them 20 minutes to grab our appetizer order, 30 minutes to get our drinks and forgot one drink when the did arrive. Took way too long on appetizers, didn’t clear the table to the point we had to give them the plates. Second glass of wine was dirty with lipstick and the waiter threw a funny one asking if i was sure if it’s not mine, had to remind them about the replacement. Left me without anything to drink, water or wine while eating a spicy sushi. Terrible service, food was great.

I’ve been wanting to try this place out for a long time. The positive reviews are all true. Our waiter was amazing and we not once had to ask for refills.

We were seated immediately upon entering the restaurant. The hostess was very friendly. Our server was friendly and our order was correct and served within a reasonable amount of time. The food tasted very good and was a good value. The only negative of our dining experience was the table full of people who sat behind us. They were very loud and the acoustics of the restaurant seemed to amplify the level of noise they generated.

We were seated a the “Chefs Table” which didn’t really have a view of the chefs to be honest. Our table was also quite wobbly which was frustrating. The waiter indicated they took a progressive approach to dinner. We arrived at 645 and concluded dinner at 925pm, not quite progressive enough for us. What the service lacked the food made up for though. Definitely try the salmon skin roll, crispy rice appetizers and lobster roll, so good!

I was disappointed in the overall service. We waited 15 minutes to be seated at our table even though we had a reservation and waited for over an hour to receive our food. Although our waitress was friendly, she didn't check on us or communicate the reason for the delay. The restaurant had a nice ambiance, but I was surprised with the amount of tables and how close together they were. It made me feel like they weren't conscious of COVID or trying to accommodate for that. Although the rolls tasted good, I felt like the prices were a little bit high.

Rarely does a dining experience have both excellent food and service all in one experience but Aoi came through like a champ. Maybe it was my personal taste but I couldn't find one dish on the menu that didn't fit into what I would expect a competent sushi house to serve. That being said, the menu wasn't mainstream but a combination of creative, substantial, and fresh. Since it's a short review I'll leave it at that and add one more note, our water Eric(k)? was the bee knees, we made a reservation for next week and requested him.

The restaurant was dark and noisy. Our table was tiny and not very cozy. It was shoved against a wall that was beside a main hallway. We had a server that was ok. No real complaints about him, but the food took entirely too long. Reservations were 5:30, and although seated right away, we waited 1 hour and 10 minutes before we got our dinner. The food wasn’t that wonderful and certainly not worth the wait. I didn’t think it was worth the money we spent either. I don’t feel the need to ever go back. I didn’t hate it, but there are other places I’d prefer to go to.

I appreciate artistry and the commitment to provide top shelf experiences. 2.5 hrs for dinner is too long for that experience and I apologize but goat cheese has no place on a Maki roll. Ive never had a bad experience here until last night. And it was chosen to celebrate our anniversary that was acknowledged on the reservation but never mentioned otherwise. Service was extremely slow for drinks and everything else. Had to go to bar once. No water refills. One of our 4 apps arrived alone. The rest 30 min later. Then entrees took another hour. Best sushi in the region. Great atmosphere. A little slow on getting the drinks out and a bit expensive but can't complain too much being that it's a landlocked state and it's not easy getting quality, fresh fish as you get with Aoi.

Our server was not very attentive. We had to get up and look for him for more water and then he delivered it like he was doing us a favor. I waitered for many years so I am qualified to judge. He was not great.

We had the special Wednesday night (1/10) which was steamed rice, pickled veggie salad, lightly seared ahi, and more and it was the best meal I've had there. It's an entree, not a roll, and it's a full plate, trust me! Can't go wrong and I'd highly recommend the chef keeps it on the menu. It's a top seller!

I loved the Japanese Old Fashioned. Finding a parking spot is a challenge. Afternoon sun was bothersome where we sat...suggest a window shade. Food is a bit pricey. Server said the Lamb Pots we’re phenomenal...I did not find them so...mine were tough at the bone. Scallops were very fresh. Sushi rolls were average. I look forward to different ones on my next visit.
