Here at Talla na Mara Restaurant we are doing our best to operate a sustainable, climate conscious environment. In our endeavours to reduce waste, we prepare all our meals to order. Our restaurant is relaxed and runs to a mellow pace. This is what we call ‘Harris Time’. We invite you to come and enjoy the views, unwind and take your time over our delectable food!

Please be aware that we can only cater for smaller tables for evening service as we currently have a limited service. Please do not make an online booking and add guests in the notes as we may have to reschedule your table or cancel your booking. An overall perfect experience. Our third visit. We were made to feel very welcome. Service excellent, clean and bright. Staff and new member of staff couldn’t do enough for us. Food delicious and well presented. Stunning location. Plenty of parking. Would without doubt recommend to family and friends. Thank you it made my husbands birthday

Excellent in every way. Food, service, value for money, views, all fantastic. Mentioned it was our anniversary and we got a glass of prosecco and a table overlooking the beach. Made to feel special. We will definitely remember this for a long time

Nice restaurant, excellent service by friendly staff. Menu slightly limited choices, fair portion sizes but when asked what the "seasonal" crumble was, informed "just the usual". It was tasty but I'd have liked to know what fruit was in it. Wine cooler placed on floor, maybe you need to get some stands as that was unusual & there was a toddler on nearby table walking about, so I thought this needed your attention. Price wise, good value.

Short staffed due to secondary exam period during the daytime lunch visit but wouldn't know it as still very fast and great food. Service so good we went back for dinner. Recommend the chicken balloting and the fish and chips. Ran by the Community Trust now rather than a restaurant company. Food good. Note some times they close due to staff shortages we heard and cannot do all sittings every day so book first for meals unless giing for coffee and cake. Great views of the water from the restaurant.

We had an excellent meal here whilst in Harris on our mini moon. The service was of a great standard, the staff were attentive and efficient. We were even given a complementary glass of fizz to congratulate our wedding. We’ll definitely be back.

Brilliant service - thanks for surprising the hubby! Views outstanding, just wish we'd had a window table. Starters and desserts were fabulous, main courses a little underwhelming by comparison. And we would suggest softer lighting in the evenings, but otherwise a wonderful evening, thank you.

The quality and presentation of my meal was first rate. I haven’t tasted such delicious chicken in a long while. The menu wasn’t extensive, but that perhaps enabled chefs to produce very well prepared meals. There was enough choice to cater for differing tastes though. An attractive restaurant with fabulous outlook over the bay. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Would high recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. Prices were a bit higher than pub cuisine but very reasonable for a restaurant in such a beautiful setting.

It was good to be back in Talla again in the new restaurant. Overall, we had a lovely meal with our friends and will be recommending it to others. Considering it was the opening night, the service and food were good. We look forward to eating there again soon, especially as it’s just down the road from us.

Overall we had an enjoyable meal. The service was great. Everything was presented nicely and the food was tasty. There was a good choice of gf/df/vg. We would have liked a larger pate portion and a choice of gf lager. The Thai curry had good flavour but the flavours weren't strong enough and too much onion which was the main veg in the dish. These of course are just preferences and did not take away from the enjoyment of the meal. Thank you.

We felt the service was a little off hand. There was an atmosphere. We were greeted in a strange way, like we were not expected although I had booked. I ordered the sticky toffee pudding with vegan ice cream which was listed as such on the menu and was gf. It came with dairy ice cream. I asked and was told I should have asked for vegan even though the menu clearly states it comes with vegan ice cream. The manager too my pudding off the bill but I felt she didn't handle my complaint well. Shame as the previous week everything had been excellent. Maybe a bad day?

The service was amazing, the manager was so lovely to us and very dog friendly! The menu is not large but it’s good for various dietary requirements. My mum had the feather blade steak and it was delicious, I got the fish and chips, the fish was lovely, the chips disappointing frozen chips. The puddings were very good.

A delightful restaurant, with the best view. The front-of-house team were lovely, but rushed off their feet, as there were only two for the whole restaurant. They also had our booking down for the wrong time. Luckily I brought a paper copy with the correct time. The already busy team had to spend a lot of time fending off disgruntled visitors who dropped in for a drink, when there is only restaurant service in the evening. With dodgy admin and having to work as bouncers, I was surprised they were not more frazzled. If the management employed more staff, and made it clear what the restaurant does at each time, this venue could be really good. Add a few tweaks to the food - keeping everything warm on the plate (e.g. the mash, and having hot water that is hot) and this could be top end dining. Not yet.
