We came for the music and usually it is a very nice level of sound but we changed tables because it was so loud and for the second set we asked if they could play a little less loud. It worked for awhile. Aside from that everything was great.

The food was delicious as always however, service not so good, very disappointing. We asked for a coke, they forgot to bring it. Asked again 20 mins later, they said they didn't have anymore. Asked this same waitress for water instead, forgot too...

I have been to The Rock a number of times and have always been pleased with the total experience. Unfortunately, this time the service was very poor. I am not certain if the server was new, but he needs to be retrained so he understands his job. He seemed to have little knowledge of the menu and ordering was difficult. We ordered beverages which we had to ask for three times and one drink was never delivered. I requested the drink directly from the bartender after not receiving it via the server. She assured me she would bring it and then, after at least 10 minutes, she finally came to the table to inform us she did not have the ingredients. A carafe of coffee is served upon arrival and we were brought a carafe that did not contain two cups of coffee. All in all, the service was quite poor. Fortunately, the food was delicious.

Upon arrival our table was ready and we were greeted and shown to our table. Our server was exceptional and rendered excellent service. All of our food was very flavorful, and the drinks were great.
In total, it was a wonderful experience.
The only thing that might have increased the enjoyment would have been some music.

We are loyal and frequent visitors to The Rock and often bring/refer guests from our hotel business there for meals. The food and the service are always the excellent, but we can no longer bring or recommend guests dine on Thursday evenings due to the loudness of the live music. We love music in restaurants, but it is simply too loud to enjoy conversation during this time. We are very sorry to have to send a less than perfect review to such a wonderful restaurant in our community. Ana y David

My husband and I had dinner at the Rock. The location and the ambiance were great. The coconut ceviche and the sea bass were excellent. My husband ordered the chambrette which was really disappointing it lacked flavour….didn’t seem to be seasoned properly and the meat was not melt in the mouth. The portion was huge and expensive. Other than that I would really recommend this restaurant.

We chose to dine at The Rock to celebrate an important occasion & especially on Thursday evening because there would be live music. We are ballroom dancers & musicians so we always lean toward venues with live music. Unfortunately, the musicians cancelled at the very last minute. But your wonderful host knew we expected music so she came to our table to inform us & apologize. The restaurant & grounds are just lovely. We enjoyed trying some new dishes, including octopus! Johanna was an attentive & sweet server. If we were saying in the Boquete área longer, we would return again.

Devolví 2 veces el plato porque el corte de carne no tenía el termino de cocción que fue solicitado por mi. Claramente entiendo que este fue un problema de la cocina.

As you can see, I rated the food as an 8. There is not much to create an exotic dish of pork ribs, however well prepared.
Overall, my wife and I enjoyed the Rock with the exception of a terrible band playing U.S. rock hits. A really good Spanish guitarist would have matched the ambience much better. And, conversation would have been easier.

El servicio fue malo. Nos trataron mal. No nos recogieron los platos, a la hora del plato fuerte la mesa estaba llena de platos de la merienda y nos rgañaron porque no había espacio.

Restaurante muy bonito, los platos que ordenamos estuvieron muy buenos, aunque alguno estuvo un poco limitado en porción versus precio.
Deben tomar alguna medida para controlar un poco las molestosas moscas en el ambiente.
Aunque el servicio de los meseros fue muy bueno, el Host que nos recibió fue un poco antipático ya que no nos iba a dejar pasar solo por haber llegado casi 15 minutos después de la hora reservada, sin embargo habían muchas mesas disponibles.

Tenemos tiempo yendo, es mas, somos clientes frecuentes cada vez que estamos en boquete se ha vuelto tradición ir... Nos gusta tomar con la comida cerveza artesanal de mango, sin embargo desde septiembre 2021 cada vez que vamos y la pedimos nos dicen que no hay. Eso no afecta la velada, pero no es lo esperado.

This is apparently the most sophisticated and premier place for lovely special occasions in Boquete. It is all that for sure. We had a patient and experienced young woman - Monserrat - who was attentive to us without being obtrusive. That is very important to me; be available but don't bug us and interrupt our conversations. Most restauarants are more interested in 'turning the tables' than allowing the customers to soak up the ambience of the location and vibe. The owner checked in with our group - which was sort of large, granted - but we so much enjoyed our very first experience there, it will not only be for special occasions. Thank you for a lovely afternoon at The Rock Restaurant!

Fuimos con altas expectativas del lugar. Ya habíamos ido antes y nuestra experiencia fue maravillosa en el pasado. En esta ocasión nos sentimos apurados. La comida no estaba en su punto (como solía estar) y comimos estresados. No tuvimos tiempo de la experiencia de los malvaviscos. Si la cocina cierra a las 9 entonces acepten reservas hasta las 7 para grupos de 5 personas o más de lo contrario sus clientes se sentirán en corredera.
Siempre recomiendo este lugar. Es un icono en Boquete. Saludos.

El ambiente del restaurante crea la expectativa de que disfrutarás de una excelente comida y tal cual no hubo decepción alguna. Todo exquisitamente preparado y presentado, acompañado siempre por un amable e inmediato servicio. Las malvas fueron la cereza sobre el pastel! We loved the atmosphere of the new ROCK. It is truly beautiful and earthy. But the wait staff seemed a bit disorganized with a group of 8. We did not receive menus until we asked . We ordered cocktails and 2 bottles of wine. Wine came before the cocktails . Strange. We shared a few appetizers among the 8 of us. We had to ask for plates and extra napkins. We never received the napkins. We ordered 2 more bottles of wine but the Tarapaca was not available. Disappointing. Meals were excellent. We were not asked if we needed extra bread and we had eaten all of our first loaves. The Expresso machine was not working so that was a bummer . We enjoyed roasting our marshmallows around the fire. Very nice ending to our meal.,

My wife and I enjoyed our experience at the Rock as usual. We tried a new dish which we both ordered, a Panamanian dish of chicken, coconut rice, etc.
However, our server appeared a bit abrupt and preoccupied although the restaurant was not overly crowded on a Sunday evening. We did leave the restaurant feeling that the overall experience was enjoyable. Thank you.
