Wagu beef was a bit chewy, but the overall taste of the skewers was nice. The salmon main was ok and the scallops main were a little underwhelming. Service was very prompt and friendly and ambience was inviting. I think for the money we paid, I just wanted more from the food. Maybe older more experienced chefs are needed??

Friendly waitresses but seemed to be understaffed for a busy Friday night as we (table for 2) got forgotten amongst the larger occupied tables. The food was ok. Short ribs were tough and chewy. Salmon was nicely cooked. The entree was forgotten then brought out after mains, when reminded about.
We usually enjoy Izakaya Grill but we’re a little disappointed this time.

Fantastic experience. Food was great. Service was great and friendly. Shame about the roadworks on Roes Street which spoils the view for the alfresco dining. But this is certainly NOT Izakaya fault. Wine prices were quite reasonable which is a pleasant surprise as we enjoyed a bottle of Vasse Felix Red. Looking forward to returning with a group of friends.

Very disappointing….I was expecting very fine dining according to the reviews…it was for my birthday …the grill meats didn’t have much taste, hard to distinguish the difference between duck and tongue and even the Genmaicha was testing disgusting as the water hasn’t been boiled so the chlorine taste was stronger. Improvement has to be made to serve the japanese tea..in a Japanese style cup, a very important detail.

Out of the few main courses on the menu, one (prawns) was not available. We were ready to leave but they managed to find (?) 2 servings. Dishes came out at very different intervals. Food was tasty but not as much as expected. We found it to be over-hyped and overpriced. Chalkboard by the entrance advertised sashimi but there was none to be had. We were told the board hadn't been updated for a long while.
