My dad loves going there so we took him out for his birthday. It was my first time and loved it. The staff were lovely.

I bought a Groupon and this in no way means the food/service/quality was lowered by standard, it was amazing and so much food.
The manager/owner was very welcoming and clear on the specials..he took the time to come over and chat with our large group.
I will defiantly be back.

The food was excellent and service impeccable! We visited for my friend's birthday and the owner surprised us with a traditional dessert. My favourite was the beef and fig tagine. 10/10 and I will definitely be coming back!!

We had such a fun night at Mashawi. We didn't book for the wine tasting but were given a few samples anyway which resulted in us buying some bottles. The staff at Mashawi are super friendly and the food was excellent. It is always a great night at Mashawi.

We found this place, on a whim. And, it was a very nice experience. We enjoyed the meals, thoroughly. The live music, was set at the right volume, allowing customers to converse. The belly dancer, was also a nice bonus. Valentines day was made, all the more, better.
I did notice other customers, not having or sharing the same experience, as we did. Only because of a lack of order, from taking/giving orders to delivering meals to tables. There should be a better system in place, to better assist the kitchen and servers. Set table numbers, that never change, so everybody can better navigate the restaurant.
This is constructive criticism, as we wish to see this business grow, it's a great place to dine at. We will definitely be trying Mashawi, again.

We visited Mashawi on Sunday night for my sons birthday. We were a group of 13 and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Food was very good and waiter took the time to talk with us. We enjoyed a chat with owner at end of evening. Will definitely be back. Great evening!!

Good sized portions. Some of the dishes were a let down- the Dolmades in particular. We ordered drinks that weren’t served. When I enquired about it well after my starters were served, I was treated like I was being impatient only to be later told that they had run out of the beer. The other drink we ordered never showed either but we weren’t charged for it. So we didn’t complain. Overall, service wasn’t the best.

I like to go to Mashawi because I like the type of food and the atmosphere there, and the friendliness. However, one aspect that could be improved concerns salad; my husband's salad was pretty poor probably containing only 2 ingredients; one being tomato of which there were about 3 small wedges. When you think northern African /mediterranean food I think about good salads (as well as spicy, well cooked meat which they do) such as tabbouleh, chickpea salads etc. Anyway, that would improve the meals and make the meals more value for money.
