Who knows why there are two bad reviews here. I have been four times in three weeks and love it more and more each time. The food is very reasonable, all Argentinian tapas and really delicious. I went the first time with five others and we just loved the setting, food, atmosphere and professional waiters. We tried the bruschetta sampler, the empanada sampler (the best I have ever had), the buccatini with pancetta in red sauce, the rocket arugula salad, the pesto pasta, and many other delicious delicate samples of really great flavors in their apps list. The setting is to die for, just lovely with a fountain and garden setting like no other. Someone wrote about closing early; that is because it is a boutique hotel, and the garden is shared by the guest rooms that face it, so they have to honor their privacy by closing early.
If you were a guest staying there you wouldn't want a raucous outdoor crowd late at night, so I think it is fine that they close early. A romantic, quiet night is what it is supposed to be. If you are looking to party all night, this is not the place. It is meant for people who love tranquility and love an unusual setting. We sat next to a couple who decided to check into the hotel after they had too much wine to drive home safely, so I thought that was pretty cool. Because it is outdoor seating, we found that the wind often blew out the candles, and even though our waiter continued to light them again and again, the summer winds prevailed. But again, there is plenty of light in the perimeter twinkle lights that outline the garden as well as lights in the trees. It all makes for a calm setting and my friends and I love it. We had the best lemon gelato in the city for dessert. Simple, refreshing and full of flavor.
I have told everyone about this place, and living nearby it has become my hang out with my friends. It makes for the biggest bang for the buck with the setting and fair pricing of all the things on the menu. I can't imagine how someone calls a menu full of small plates for $4.00-8.00 expensive. Doesn't seem like they have dined at the same place I have this last month. Love the place, the food the whole setting and would recommend it to everyone. Go while the weather is still warm, you will find it to be your new favorite place.
