The ambience of this 45-seat dining room and upstairs club is elegant, warm, and welcoming. The décor is European, reminiscent of a Tuscan villa; the dining room features open beams, lacy curtains, and a center table with a display of dried flowers and fruit. The chef's weekly changing menus represent fine contemporary Italian cuisine at its best. A starter duet of foie gras and sweetbreads is coupled with Firelli pears and aged balsamic vinegar, and the roasted lamb entrée is fragrant with sage and paired with cranberry beans and Barolo sauce. Cheese course selections are well thought out, and the desserts are creative. The restaurant is situated at the edge of historic Head House Square, bordering the eclectic South Street area.
