The meal was delicious!!! Service was wonderful. It was the perfect place to celebrate our son ,John’s birthday ,the day before he sets off to Rome. The surprise dessert with the lit candle was a great finishing touch to a beautiful night. We will be back.

My second time there, it was another amazing meal. Service was attentive but it was early and they weren’t busy. It took a long time to get our food but it was worth the wait! Amazing lasagna, my friend had the Pappardelle. She said it was heavenly!

Everything was excellent. I do not eat gluten and was able to find delicious gluten free options. It would be nice to have an indication on the menu for items that are gluten free or can be gluten free with small alterations. Many restaurants now do this and it’s very helpful.

It was our first time and we’ll definitely be back! Great menu selection. We order a few appetizers to try which we’re all great. I had the fish special and my husband had the ribeye, both dishes were amazing and creative. Our server Charlotte was also the bartender and she was amazing! We met Yaz the manager and Shaun the owner, both gracious hosts. The wine list is small, varied and fantastic.

Lovely atmosphere, our appetizer Salumi E Formaggi was excellent, and the bar selections were wonderful as well. For my entree I ordered the veal chop which was served with mushrooms and fingerling potatoes. The veal chop was excellent but I was disappointed with the mushrooms. I was not sure what a "seacoast" mushroom was when I ordered the dish and I honestly did not like them very much (rubbery). Also the mushrooms and the fingerling potatoes were served lukewarm which I found odd considering that the veal chop was piping hot. I also ordered the Cavolfiore (cauliflower) which had an unexpected vinegar taste that I did not like. My companion had the Melanzane (eggplant) which was very good. However she ordered a side of pasta which was forgotten when the meal was served and brought out later once our waitress was reminded. A nice addition to downtown Mystic which I will try again.

It was my first time at Via Emilia, although I've been trying to get there for a while! I thought the insalada was superb, the Straccatella I think should be served with a grilled bread, the Papparadelle lacked flavor, I asked for salt and parmesean and it was better. The Special fish was outstanding -Halibut with artichokes, cauliflower and fingerling potatoes. I liked the wines by the glass selections the Montepulciano was delicious, and I adored the Tiramisu it was perfect. One suggestion the type face on the menu is just way too small, I could read the headers but not the ingredients without using my phone to enlarge. I would increade the font ize next time you print it them. The service was Excellent, from greeting, seating and throughtout dinner. I did think a few of the prices were quite high, but I will be back to try a few other items. Bravo!

We had a totally delightful evening at Via Emilia. Our waiter was perfect never hovering but always attentive. The food was delicious. A special call out for the Caesar Salads (the best I’ve ever had). The pasta and one side veggie were scrumptious too and the wine list was perfect for by the glass or bottle. Bravo!

Our food was cold apparently because a diner on the first floor had to be taken out by ambulance. We were on the second floor and food is prepared on the first floor. The music was so loud we had trouble conversing.

Everything was excellent. 10 out of 10. I’m giving an 8 for ambiance because the music was terrible. Not sure who chose the playlist but it’s an upscale Italian restaurant. Playing very loud rock/alternative/rap Christmas music made that part unpleasant. We went for our anniversary dinner and it wasn’t very romantic due to the terrible music. But we laughed it off and had a nice time. Overall the food and service was impeccable. We will definitely eat there again.

Arrived and the hostess was helping another couple, we waited 5 mins and a gentleman came over, we told him we had a reservation, he found our name then the women came back and said just sit them anywhere it doesn’t matter, then she looked at the computer and said oh 24 is fine. Took about 10mins once we were seated for someone to come over, she made sure to tell us she was not be helping us but asked us if we wanted water. As we sat there that same hostess brought a few couples up and asked them where they would like to sit, and let them choose. So of course they were given the nice window seats. Food was okay the mozzarella was a little watery and for the price I would not order again. Out main dishes were okay, my husband said he felt his was more of a kids meal…mine was warm…on the verge of being cold. For a Wednesday night and not too busy service was slow I think Sara was the only waitress. She was great and made sure out water and drinks were full and came over several times when we received our food.

Overall, the experience was lacking. The atmosphere was beautiful and the service was great but our entrees left something to be desired. I got the papardelle which was bland besides the large sprig of rosemary on top, it seemed like their should be some more flavor besides that with a ragu. My fiancee got the taglioni which also was also bland. There were also out of a lot of things we wanted to order, which is totally understandable, but I wish I was told before I came for my reservation or at least when we sat down. We both ordered a glass of wine and both were severely underpoured. Overall the meal was very pricey which again, I had NO problem with if it was worth it. But it certainly wasn't.

Loved the food. I got the ribeye. It was delicious... Only thing I might suggest is to perhaps serve the steak by itself. The peppers and tomatoes were great but kind of overpowered the steak flavor. We will definitely be back!

Ambiance was good but the food was subpar. Bread was very hard and not enjoyable. My meatball appetizer was brought to the table cold. My friends entree was brought out cold. Cannolis for dessert were the worst I've ever had, just not good. I and high hopes for a new Italian restaurant in Mystic and was severely disappointed. Will never eat here again and lay out $140 for dinner for two.

My wife and I had an excellent anniversary dinner at Via Emilia. The quality of the food was top notch. Thought was put into each component of each dish, from pickled baby fennel to accompany the salumi board to marinating berries with limoncello to accompany the olive oil cake. The homemade pasta was excellent and the sauces were authentic (not your typical heavy Italian American). Portions were good and I felt were of great value based on the prices (especially in a tourist town). I am excited to have Via Emilia in town and am anxious to visit their sister restaurant, The Mariner, across the street. Thanks or a great meal!

After all the rave reviews we were disappointed. The big issue was the noise level, it was very noisy. The second thing was bread, it tasted like it was several days old not a good thing for that kind of restaurant. We had the calamari for an appetizer and it was rubbery. The rest of the meal was fine and tasty. Don’t think we would go back.

The Caesar salad, as well as the fish and ravioli entrees, were all delicious. We ordered a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir that complemented our food choices perfectly. Also, our server Chiara made sure we felt welcome and at home. We will definitely be back!

Loud, crowded, food was below average. Veal Scaloppini was bland and tough. Meatball app was bread and plain. Wine was double what other restaurants would charge. We Had a reservation. We got seated in top corner next to two others less than two feet separation. No privacy for table discussions. Waitress was pleasant but too busy. We live in Mystic and have seen a decline in restaurant quality. This is a good example for that.

The music was a bit too loud. Hard to talk across the table. There was a mix up and we didnt get our dessert. Waiter did pack it to go on the house. The tiramisu was not very good. It seemed like they forgot to soak the lady fingers as they were hard and crunchy with little coffee flavor.

My husband loved his dish, mine was just okay, pretty bland. I thought $13.00 for Caesar dinner salad was very pricey. It’s priced for tourists not us locals.

The food was excellent, and we will definitely come again. We thought not offering us tap water was a mistake (and would not pay $6 for water again). When a party of 6? came and sat behind us, it was pretty loud. I think we would prefer to sit next to a wall next time. The bill with tip was ~ 162, which is about $20 more than we have paid at a restaurant like River Tavern in Chester for a similar meal (and we had dessert there).

Allison was a great server. Started with Polpetine beef and prosciutto meatballs with tomato sugo & baked ricotta and a Cesare Salad. Entrees Tagliolini with ragu bolognese & parmigiano reggiano and Pappardelle short rib ragu with rosemary and pecorino. For dessert Tiramisu, which was one of if not the best I ever had. The entire meal was Fantastic! A couple of Tito's and Peroni's made for a perfect night. This was our first time at Via Emilia's and we will be back. Thank you.

One of the most delicious meals I have had. The staff is amazing, cocktails and wine list were on point. Gregg was our waiter and was attentive but also distant when he knew we were ok. Proposed to my girlfriend and they were very helpful to give us a nice little table way from everyone else. I would tell all my friends to go ti Via Emilia. Thank you for a great meal and great time!!

Great service &food. A little too crowded. I requested a downstairs table because my sister has hearing aids and downstairs seems less noisy. We were seated upstairs I understand you can’t accommodate everyone. We love your restaurant.

Our waitress, Sarah, was fabulous! Jill of all trades as she mixed and served drinks, waited on ALOT of tables, sprinted up stairs dozens of times AND despite servers being few, took it upon herself to reorder my Gnocchi Verde as I just mentioned “yes” they were delicious although not quite hot enough but not necessary to reheat. We LOVED our choice of the Tiramisu for dessert! AND it was complimentary as I had mentioned on reservation site that we were celebrating our Anniversary! Lovely unexpected surprise!!!!
