The setting is beautiful! We were a party of eight and on a week day we were given a choice of suitable tables bot inside and outside. All food and drinks are self serve. If you order food, you are told to check back in about 10 minutes for your order to come out.

Our wine expert at our tasting was excellent! I wish I could remember her name, but she was wonderful and allow us to try a couple wines that weren't on the tasting. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the wines are compared to our last visit to New Kent many years ago. My husband and I are planning on joining the wine club. My only suggestion would figure out a way to allow people to join the wine club when they are visiting the winery. We were prepared to purchase additional bottles to take home, but since we couldn't sign up at the winery, we decided to hold off and join later to take advantage of the discounts.

This was our first visit and had an awesome time watching and listening to Whiskey Business. My only concern was we reserved a table and were placed at the last back table even though there were many empty tables closer. It didn’t affect our overall experience, just a thought. Thank you!

The food that is ordered should be brought to the table. Employees are more familiar with every step, every obstacle. It would ruin the entire day if the customer was to stumble or trip and dump their plate. With several employees kinda doing nothing, it only makes sense that one makes rounds to the tables and ask if anyone needs another drink?
Cheese plates need a knife.
I am not complaining, just suggesting things that would make a good thing a little bit better.

We enjoyed our visit to New Kent Winery and have been there a few times in the past. We are not from the area but meet our family there when we are visiting. It is a nice and relaxing place to eat and sip wine. I would recommend some sparkling wine or Prosecco by the glass as an option instead of the carafe but other than that, it is a great place to unwind especially on a beautiful and sunny day.

We came to see Geno Marriott with friends and he did not disappoint. He was awesome! The wine was excellent and the food was tasty. It would really be nice if you had crab dip as an appetizer. I got the spinach dip which was amazing however the chips I received was all broken into tiny pieces which made it difficult to eat the dip without getting it all over your fingers.

Everyone there is so nice and helpful! My friends and I visited on Saturday and had a brunch board (DELICIOUS!). We loved our table in the cellar room; it was so neat. I also love that y'all still use corks in all your wines. I've noticed a lot of wineries are moving to screw tops (mostly for white wines). I know screw tops aren't "bad," it just feels like it takes away part of the wine "experience"...plus I keep my corks, so thank you for still using them for all your wines :) We can't wait to come back!

Hey, we’re still talking about our oh so enjoyable afternoon @ New Kent Winery on ‘Valentine’s’ Saturday! Our reservation was for 2:30 and we enjoyed the beautiful weather along with our food and bottle of wine on the front patio. Organization was great and employees remained engaging in the face of a significant volume of attendees. We took several bottles of wine home and will surely return. Our only suggestion would be for the availability of a modest cheese & charcuterie tray to be offered with wine as an ongoing regular choice. Happy Valentine’s Weekend!

Great band, ambiance, wine and beer. The only negative is having to pick up your food order. I wouldn’t mind leaving a tip at all if food order was delivered. The stairs are a lot to contend with, especially after a drink or two. I don’t mind ordering at the counter, but think it should at least be delivered to our tables.

Having a server come once to see if we needed to order anything else or clear away dishes would have been nice.
A cardboard take away container(like the serving one) would have been immensely more appropriate than a ziplock bag.

She was fantastic.
Barrel room venue was perfect.
Wine was delicious.
All staff were wonderful.
Only mild disappointment was the funky fact that everytime you bought something- you had to swipe your card AGAIN! Not being able to run a tab, was a real pain in the ass. Given that we were a group of 5 that drank and ate for 2 hrs, I am sure I had to pull out my card a dozen times or more.
That being said, we had a wonderful time and will be back many times.

Decadent food, serene setting, friendly staff. The only thing that would make this better would be to have a server to bring your food. Overall it was lovely and we had a terrific experience.

We reserved a table which was so great that New Kent is offering this option. Ordered the brunch board with oj & sparkling wine for two of us. It was very good over all but a tad pricey at $60. We loved the live music and that there were several seating areas that were covered so that you could be protected from the sun. Highly recommend New Kent winery.

The only complaint is that the wine was a little expensive for coming right out of the “backyard” no middle men and still $50 a bottle! Also, wish there was something other than potatoes to eat, but overall fun night.

Music moved outside, so I was seated on the "porch". Great location, but because of the plastic "windows", the music was very muffled. Couldn't even identify most of the songs being played. Staff is great at NKW!

It seemed like there were many tables open and when I checked tables for 4 people there was more availability than for 2 (it was just my hubby and me). This is 1st winery (and we go to many) that has this reservation process. I’m not sure I’m a fan of it. I can see doing it for events or a special seating and service area like Barboursville does with this ‘Library’. The overall feel of the place isn’t as personal as others we’ve been to if the same size. The people working there are all very nice so it’s not a personnel issue. We’ve gone many times and we will still go occasionally. I think the overall experience could be enhanced with some modifications like cushions on the iron table chairs, some floral arrangements or even some plants with color or majestic palms. That would help with mouse levels also. Just my 2 cents!

Food is subpar. Seems like everything is purchased and reheated onsite. If that truly is the case, I would have much rather been allowed to bring my own food from home and would have most likely stayed for more then 1 glass of wine.

It was confusing about reservations - on the porch but having never been there we didn’t understand how that would work, would we be cold, how would we participate so we almost canceled. Glad we ended up going! There was not enough parking where the barriers were so driving around to the back was the only place to park. As a newbie, that might put some people off. I just rolled with it. All the staff were AMAZING!!! Including trivia peeps so cool. The beer was great as was artichoke dip but the pretzels - yuck - inedible. Thanks for doing trivia on a Friday night - wonderful date night experience! Def coming back for the March and April Trivia. Can you do comedy nights? That would make a great date night too!

The couch seating area is very worn out, with very little padding remaining, and the covers are dirty…. They take away from the overall ambience. Otherwise food and beer were very good!
