Customer Reviews & Ratings

Always satisfying

I have dined at Gringos ten times and have always been very satisfied food and excellent service. I believe all twelve friends I brought in were very impressed also.

Best Wednesday nights...

Appetizers and Wine are both 1/2 price on Wednesday nights! Great place to take a break from the usual 'dive bar' scene in PB, or to meet that cute girl at work without it being a 'date-date', and just enjoy a happy hour! Check out the queso and chips, and have some red or white, but the calamari isn't as good as it should.

Good scenery

Good food, decent drinks, hottie waitresses everywhere.

Gotta Love Champange

Although I have found this restaurant to be a bit pricey at times, DO NOT MISS THE ALL YOU CAN DRINK CHAMPANGE BRUNCH!!! This is an awesome Sunday deal. $20 covers a full buffet style brunch, all the champange you can drink...and believe's "Allllll you can drink"!..and a tip. Probably the best 20 bucks I have ever spent.

Good Margarita, Bad Dinner

I'll admit, my friend and I had had a few when we went to Gringos for dinner. It was my first night in PB. We ordered a large margarita which was delicious, but thats pretty much where the fun ended. We were seated outside next to the firepit. Very cool atmosphere, I'll give it that. My friend had nachos for an appetizer and I got the lobster margarita. They were OK. I'm all fired up for my fajitas and what arrives, but the driest, most devoid of flavor chicken I've ever tasted. I order a vodka soda and it arrives. It's terrible. My friend tastes it to make sure it isn't just me. I tell the waitress who has a little attitude on her that the drink is weak. She is flabbergasted and claims she watched them pour it and it is half vodka. No way. She brings it back and I order a beer. Overall, overpriced with an attitude. I'd go back for happy hour, and just grab drinks. Maybe try the champagne brunch too.

Gringos = Over Rated !!

Well after reading many excellent reviews for Gringos Restaurant we decided to try. Unfortunately the food was Poor, The hot drinks were cold upon arrival and the service was mediocre at best. I guess that ordering seafood at a Mexican eatery was possibly a poor choice. My wife’s salad had more greens than flavor, the Swordfish was definitely old and the brownie desert seemed to have come right off of the VONS bakery shelf. The one positive I must say was the Banana cheesecake burrito, but this buy itself definitely did not make up for the rest of the experience.

What Happened Since 11/03/03

I submitted my review of Gringos on November 3, 2003. I would like to withdraw that review. I tried the Mole Sampler and both the chicken and pork were overcooked and flavorless. The bed of rice was just a bland white rice and the Mole was nothing special. Well at least the cooked vegetables were good. I will not return again and will take it of my referral list.
