The Space Pad exists on the top deck of a tall tower above the surface of the alien planet Rillispore, a technologically advanced 1950’s Atomic Era styled spaceport. The Rillisporians made contact with Earth starting in the late 1940s and 50s in their flying saucers and found a beautiful planet with beautiful people and beautiful architecture. They were so impressed they decided to take the mid-century vibe of the 1950s on Earth back to their planet and incorporated it into their culture and advanced technology. The Space Pad is the Rillisporians favorite cocktail lounge located on their home planet and now decades later they’ve invited us to visit and share with us what they’ve been up to!
We are open 5pm-11pm Wed & Sun and 5pm-12am Thurs-Sat. Our last seating Wednesday & Sunday is 10:00pm and 11:00pm Thursday thru Saturday. Last call for drinks is 30 minutes prior to close. With the exception of the last seating, we book reserved seating for 90 minute increments. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your reservation, your seats will be allocated to customers on the wait list. Must be 21 or older.

Such a cool little joint, definitely suggest a reservation as the standby can get crazy busy. The drinks are verrrry boozy so make sure to grab some food before or while you’re visiting. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and fun! This is a really fun little spot that everyone should experience at least once. Can’t wait to come back!

I've gone twice now and both times were just so much fun. The atmosphere is lively, they have light displays that go with certain songs and it makes for a unique experience. Bartenders were engaging and definitely knew the drinks well to make suggestions and we were seated upon entering with reservation. I'll definitely come back, maybe next time I'll try the food it looks really good.

I must say we were quite worried about some of the negative Yelp reviews. Paying almost $20 per drink for mostly just ice didn't sound like the space experience we were looking for, but I have to enthusiastically say that either those reviews simply weren't true OR maybe we just got lucky to get the best bartender on staff (Tessa).
We had reservations through TableAgent.com for 6pm on a Thursday, during which Sunset Market was happening on the streets around Kilowatt. It's a great day to come because we could eat food from around the world, then pop into The Space Pad for some cocktails.
Though we had reservations, the two large booths were already occupied. Tessa asked if we cared to sit at the bar and there were five stools open so that was fine for us. In fact, sitting at the bar allowed us to chat with the bartender and she was fantastic! We were saddened to hear that she's leaving in like two weeks. We finally find one of the best bartenders in Oceanside (trust me, we've been almost everywhere here), and now she's leaving. Ugh.
Our drinks were amazing. My Zombie was one of the strongest drinks I've had, soooo good! And it was not filled with just ice. It actually took me a while to drink that sucker down, and I'm a pro. It also came in a cool Tiki style glass.
Some drinks came as a martini in a large coup style glass. These aren't the small dainty coup glasses you'd see in fancier places...these were large. And some came in a tall hurricane. Different glassware for different cocktails, the way it should be.
The interior of this place is a trip. It's super cool...and I'm so glad they decided to do something with this space. The lights are dazzling, and there is periodically a little "show" that happens. Can't really describe it, you just need to see it for yourself.
The drinks are not $20. They range from like $16 to $18 and they are ABSOLUTELY worth it. (Beers are $10)

Only one server in speak easy made it very difficult to order drinks.
Bartender at front (Killowatt) was extremely rude and said we might have lost our table due to being late (it was 7:34pm for a 7:30 reservation). We kindly reminded him of the website policy stating we have up to 10mins after reservation time and also explained the ride closures.
Overall good, it was our second time going and experiencing The Space Pad, would’ve been great if there was more staff as it was clearly understaffed and the Kilowatt tender again was very impolite in how he approached and handled us as purchasing consumers.

The place is super cool. The decor is amazing. The drinks were good, but quite expensive. My only real complaint is that if you don't eat raw fish, you aren't eating. That being said, I would go back. I would just like to see some non sushi appetizers. The bartenders were very friendly, which we appreciated. It was a good time.

I know you advertise only 17 seats, but it still was smaller than I expected. And even though I saw the menu before we went, I decided to eat somewhere else. The decor was on point and fun. The drinks were fabulous, and so was our server, a young woman from Brooklyn whose name we promptly forgot right after asking her. I wish there was more of a hoo-ha made over the corridor entry, like asking for our tickets, or where our luggage is, etc.
