Table booked before the new menu upgrade. Not much choice for non fish and pork eaters. Disappointed that the hanging skewers, hummus and mozerella sticks have been removed from the menu. Service and ambience of the restaurant is fantastic and we used to really look forward to our frequent evenings out there. Unfortunately due to a lack of choice for us on the menu it is unlikely that we will return.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Staff were lovely and they kindly reimbursed us as post ordering the dish wasn't available due to chef being concerned over the fat content of the meat, I was impressed the staff were open about this instead of serving regardless of quality. Very welcoming as they had literally just opened for the evening. Main meal choices only about 6. Mainly tapas and light bites but plenty of choice. Vegetables all extras and slightly over priced. A couple of things mentioned as disappointing and no alteration to the bill. Chef advised... Good parking available.

My meal was awful overcooked pork, a small scoop of very average potatoes and not a vegetable to be seen. It was difficult to attract the attention of the staff as they were so busy talking I didn’t bother to complain just when they collected the plates mine being nearly full! We even had to go to the bar to request coffee because they never came to ask us, I’m afraid I wouldn’t be recommending the Vault as a good experience and would think twice about returning.

Firstly the food was delicious and the service speed was good even. The main issue I had was we were placed on a small table and planned to order a few small plates. We asked if we could have a nearby, empty small table added to ours for room to put all of the plates but were informed this was not necessary as we would have enough room. We didn't have enough room and ended up having to stack plates on top of each other to fit them on. Secondly, when booking we were asked what the occasion was. I informed them it was out 20th Anniversary. Absolutely nothing was mentioned or came of this. Why even ask in the first place?

The food, ambience and value were great but unfortunately the overall rating was brought down by service. We ordered tapas style and were left waiting a very long time for plates to be cleared. Two of the dishes were never brought out at all. We had to catch staff whenever we wanted more drinks without anyone asking us if they could get us any - despite empty bottles and glasses sitting on the table a long time. The crackling on the belly pork was not crunchy - very chewy.

We came on a Saturday afternoon, we were the only people there it did lack a bit of ambience the music was very quiet. To say we were the only people there for a good 2 hours at all the food service took a while. We ordered several small plates to share and there was a wait of around 20 minutes to bring out the Korean chicken when we already had all the other food so we were waiting but weren’t told there would be a wait so we didn’t start the rest of the items without it. The food itself was really nice and the lady looking after us was lovely!

Nice venue and nice ambience but let down by the food quality. Two people had the wagyu burger and were underwhelmed - and I think it's quite hard not to make a good burger in all honesty. I had the korean sticky chicken - I don't know what the sauce was (out of a bottle?) but there was way too much of it and for me it had a really unpleasant taste to it. I also had the king prawns on toast which were completely bland and tasteless. I actually found eating both my dishes quite unpleasant and would have left them but we were taking my son out for a treat after a difficult time, and I didn't want to make a fuss. It's so easy to make food delicious with the right use of flavours but that definitely wasn't the case for us with the dishes we had.

I felt the staff could have been more friendly, there was not a lot of smiling. She main was an £18 fish dish which was dry and didn’t come with enough sauce.
I would only return if the vegetarian menu changed. Pasta and pesto or goats cheese risotto are not great choices.
The environment is nice but as usual the couple tables are too close together.

We normally love The Vault but last night one of our guests sent back her Caesar salad as the chicken was too tough and another guest was given the wrong prawn dish so ate when the rest of us had finished & also the asparagus dish had been forgotten so came late. At £70 per couple it was disappointing & for me I was completely surprised as it’s usually excellent. Staff very pleasant & helpful, very apologetic too when errors were pointed out.

We had a great evening. The only point to make was to remind your team to watch tables to check if customers want more drinks. We had to approach the bar to reorder as the (all extremely pleasant) staff were in conversation. It’s a minor point and didn’t detract from our evening but it’s something I recall from student days working in restaurants to keep an eye out.

We loved our food - especially the pork belly!! The only niggle was that all 7 of our small plates came within about 8 minutes of each other. Everything was delicious but we had to choose which of the dishes would be better eaten hot and which could go cold which was a shame.
