The food from Sawaddee's menu that you are about to eat are all recipes that l've learned from my mother and grandmother.
When I was a child I really hated being called to help in the kitchen. but as I grew up I began to take interest and learned the art.
My mother, now, is very old. Her memory is not very good.
But her tongue and her nagging will always remain the same.
My mother's recipes have been passed down from many generations before her.
They may have deviated a little from the original recipes since the reign of King Rama V. but most of the authenticity (and all the love) remains.
Many people who have tasted them still say that they are "very delicious".

We booked as we know how packed it gets. The service was great, it always is the staff are chatty and very friendly. The food was excellent, hence why it’s packed out. The prices are very reasonable for a Thai restaurant serving food of this high quality. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and has authentic background music. It’s not a case of going out to eat, it’s more like a culinary experience. I have no hesitation recommending this restaurant.

We were a party of three and added a fourth at the last minute. The owners were lovely, so helpful and friendly, you really had the sense that nothing was too much trouble. We had one of the set menus, and the portions were very generous (so much so that two doggy bags went home with us). The food was delicious, particular standouts being the tempura prawn in the starters, and the tamarind duck. A very enjoyable meal, thank you, and we will definitely be going again.

Sawaddee is the best restaurant in Church Stretton! Everything about the meal was excellent. The food was beautifully prepared and presented, the service was attentive without being overbearing. The restaurant has been tastefully redecorated and I particularly appreciated the quiet ambience and the absence of distracting music. At about £30 per head for an enjoyable evening meal the prices were reasonable. The new owners can be very proud.

We have been to many Thai restaurants, over a number of years, and this was the best Thai meal we have ever had! Superb food, fantastic authentic flavours, and beautifully presented. The service was also fantastic, friendly, welcoming and attentive. We even got a chance to meet the chef to let her know how much we'd enjoyed her food. A lovely, memorable evening.

Wonderful food and lovely staff made this a real pleasure. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are large making Sawaddee an affordable night out. We had a range of dishes from the curry and stir-fry menus between 4 of us to share and all were really tasty without being stupidly hot. Highly recommended.

Extremely tasty, authentic Thai food prepared by a very friendly, welcoming Thai owner and his family. This is my third visit and hope to do so on many further occasions. My only concern is that on all visits, the number of diners was low and the restaurant quiet. This lovely restaurant deserves as many customers as possible to ensure it remains an integral part of the town's community.

Outside façade, especially when closed, is very off-putting, it looks dirty and unkempt. If we hadn't already booked we wouldn't have gone there, wondered whether to cancel.
Inside, when open, very clean and tidy and nice lighting. Service polite and friendly but reserved. Portions not large. No dessert menu or coffee. Nothing wrong, but it felt a bit like dining in a shop.
