For its third season, 50Fifty will take a backseat and a new plant-forward concept, Mallow, will breathe new life into the pocket bar experience by chef Janice Wong. Along with it and at the helm is Christina Rasmussen, a Danish-American forager who trained in the Culinary Institute of America before moving to Copenhagen where she was the head forager for the World’s Best Restaurant Noma and conscious dining group Ark Collection.

With a focus on plants grown and foraged on our native soil, matched by a hyperconscious and minimalist approach to cooking honed from time spent in some of New Nordic's—and the world's—most forward-thinking culinary institutions, Mallow will engage the senses and inspire new ways of living with contemporary small plates, desserts, and a degustation menu of six courses paired with four cocktails.

Plant-forward plates are matched with a flavour-first cocktail programme designed by Sasha Wijidessa, formerly of Operation Dagger. Unexpected ingredients sourced from close to home will make for intriguing tipples—think whisky infused with king oyster mushrooms, or red rice sake with a hit of sumac—while keeping your carbon footprint kosher.

Named after an edible plant that sprouts anywhere from lawns to cropland, roadsides to waste areas, Mallow draws inspiration from Christina’s foraging footprint and vast experience living in one of the world’s greatest food capitals—translated into a pocket bar experience that will leave you inspired to live a little more consciously.

This restaurant requires reservation on its own website in order to book the omakase style dinner and also make the prepayment. By booking on TableAgent, I couldn’t order the omakase dinner. Just some 3 bar bites and the cocktails. We left. Won’t go back. They should just make it simple and offer omakase meals to all diners who reserve there, regardless of via their own website or third party reservation portals.

For such bespoke drinks and food, personally served up by the guest chefs (Tryson Quek and Bannie Kang of Sidedoor) and by Janice Wong herself, the bill was surprisingly affordable. Great place to relax and even better place for a business meeting, which was what I was there for, having two sessions back to back. My sofa seat reservation was taken by a walk-in though, so there might have been a mix-up? Overall a top choice for my next business meetings.

Love that they made the special effort to put together a choco plate for my bf’s birthday and even celebrated it together with us w a shot each! Thank u for making it such a wonderful time for us!

We loved the service, both the gentleman plating and serving the desserts and mixologist Kamil Foltan, were so attentive and forthcoming in sharing their experience and knowledge. This made our experience at 50fifty special. The cocktails and mocktails were very innovative. My husband does not take alcohol and Kamil went out of his way to introduce him to non-alcoholic additives like Lyre's whisky, etc which was a first for my husband. I hope the service is sustained as this made our visit extra special.

Had a great few hours being pampered with decadent food and creative cocktails. Service was great. I’d thoroughly recommend it.
