Visited the old ship aground on a couple of occasions whilst we were in minehead staff friendly and helpful on both occasions food was really good a little expensive but that wouldn’t put me off going again definitely recommend nice to take drinks outside over looking the harbour/sea and dog friendly

Fresh cooked, local produce, very good comprehensive menu for all tastes. Good range of draft beers and ciders. Lovely, friendly, polite, helpful staff. Comfortable and pleasant surroundings in gorgeous location, overlooking the harbour. Thoroughly recommend this great pub! Nothing not to like in my opinion.

Whilst the overall experience was very good, this was definitely not the venue for an intimate evening meal. A few less tables, better spaced might be the answer, for me that is, not for you! The bar staff were very helpful and accommodating. The food was good, and the menu interesting.

Lovely little pub, staff all very welcoming and friendly. The wait for food was only about 15 mins. We had the plated carvery (after assuming from the website it was going to be an actual carvery, wasn’t too much of an issue for us except the kids can be a bit fussy but the staff made sure they only had what they wanted on their plates.) The food itself was nice and was enjoyed by the whole family. Veg was a bit hard for my liking but I know this is a personal preference. Turkey was very moist and tasty, beef was ok but a bit chewy! Potatoes were delicious Yorkshire pudding was delicious and gravy was excellent!!! Overall a lovely family Sunday Lunch in a lovely setting! Thank you x

Everything would have been 10 but ;
We arrived on time when pub was empty except few people drinking. We placed our food order with a person behind the bar who was being trained. Unfortunately the order didn’t get passed to the kitchen.
After 50 mins we asked when food was likely to come. Matt realised the mistake and was v apologetic and spoke to kitchen. We changed our orders to make the process quicker and food didn’t take long after. Mistakes happen, we realise that and perhaps we should have asked earlier, but it did spoil our general experience and we had to change our days programme after that to catch the steam train. Matt offered us a meal at no charge but we declined this - it was a genuine mistake.
I had stated on the booking form that it was a booking for a birthday but this wasn’t picked up.
Food was good, not much atmosphere being placed right by the door on table 15 but I had asked for harbour view. Felt a bit scruffy with all the beer mats on ceiling. Preferred our previous experience when we were seated more in the centre of the pub.
Nevermind, we’ll give it another go.

In the main the food was okayish, but nothing outstanding though. However my Grilled Chicken & Chorizo Rigatoni was appalling. Small bits of chicken and hardly identifiable chorizo... the sauce was watery and thin and no parmesan. It was a tiny portion at a huge price. I hope this is constructive. I didn't want to cause a fuss at the time as time (for us) was limited.

Booked in as the reviews were ok but thought the food was very average

Good service. Had the liver and onions with mash and vege which was perfect. Eton mess for dessert which was disappointing, frozen mixed berries and aerosol cream, no excuse late May when plenty of fresh strawberries available.
