We were greeted on arrival by such friendly staff. My friend brought her puppy, which we had had ahead if we could still eat inside. That was arranged in the bar area. The little extra touch was 2 dog biscuits!! We cannot say enough about how good our experience was. Definitely one to return to.

With a table of 7 and two dogs we were not sure of how things would go on our first visit, but we need not have worried they had every thing set up for us and there were plenty of other dogs also in attendance with owners. The service was OK, but understandable due to the numbers of customers and was not due to the lack of staff of or dedication and cheerful disposition. Value on par with other such establishments. We all enjoyed the visit

The 'Formica' tables with no tablecloths set a lacklustre tone. The service was relaxed but thoughtful. Regrettably my squid starter was like rubber bands, and the slow cooked pork belly had not been cooked long enough and I was left with a pile of unrendered fat on my plate. The chips were good, I'm not sure what had been done to the veg, but it was not appetizing. My partner and I were there to talk, and we did not feel pressured to leave, which was superb.

The ambiance was very relaxing and welcoming and the staff very attentive. I chose the sea bass, the fish was very good but I was rather disappointed with the accompaniments, asparagus (three very small stalks), and lettuce, tomato and cucumber with the sea bass not sure!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening, and the food was excellent. We will certainly come back . Our only slight niggles were , it was difficult to call for service , partly our fault for not bringing phones to download the app and the desserts were on the expensive side compared to main courses. Is there anyway of highlighting app menu on the booking site? We thought the cards showing which tables had been sanitised was very reassuring . Keep up the good work.

We booked a table for 4.15 for Sunday lunch but they did not have any chicken left. We both had the lamb which was tasty but I mentioned that we did not have any cauliflower cheese which was mentioned on the menu, again was told they had run out. A little disappointing!

Unfortunately we were put in the dining room right next to a reserved table of 11 people. There were other empty tables we could've had and we had previously been sitting in the bar where it would've been quieter to have left us. Obviously 11 people talking is pretty noisy and it spoilt the enjoyment of our meal. We couldn't hold a conversation ourselves. As it was my husband's birthday and even if it hadn't been, we were not keen to hang around and left as soon as possible. When the dining area is almost empty more thought needs to be given to where you put 2 people in relation to 11. It would have been helpful to have told us about the large table coming in and give us a choice of where to sit. Also two of the main craft ales were not available.

We took a chance on booking the Cricketers as we were meeting family from London and Hartley Wintney was ‘half-way’ for both sides. A friendly greeting and no problem accommodating our youngest with a high chair. Service was good but sadly our choice of food was perhaps unfortunate ordering a roast for Sunday lunch - it lacked flavour. Nonetheless our family gathering was lovely!

Not as great an experience for my guests as precious reviews or as nice as I expected from the web site. It was quiet and quite dismal and dark on an unusually cool summer day, however, it was a Monday and at the end of a difficult year, so got to be expected. Menu was short but what we ordered was nice. Service was excellent and staff very polite and welcoming. Look forward to going back at a weekend when it’s busier.
