Everything was perfect - the atmosphere is lovely. We sat in the bar as we had a dog with us, and it was cosy and welcoming. The staff are all great, very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent - the Sunday roast was delicious and the dessert portions were very generous.

Whilst staff were welcoming, service was inconsistent. Initially someone wanted to take our order within minutes of being seated. We asked them to give us a little longer to decide. After 10 minutes, I had to ask someone at the bar to take our order. I had decided on a chicken dish. I was only then told that chicken was not available. Why couldn't we have been told that before? My daughter required gluten free bread. Not available. I ordered beef lasagne. I struggled to find a few pieces of minced beef. Mainly sauce. A Cappuccino I ordered had very little milk in it. Not well made. Overall a 5/10. Expensive for what it was.

Very nice food with generous portions. One evening we had a starter which was very nice but was very filling so some of our group could not eat all of their main meal. Second visit we all had the main followed by dessert which also was very nice. Highly recommend the food which also was very good value. Service was also excellent

Love the place .. Sat in cwtch corner by the open log fire. Always a warm friendly welcome, and a varying choice of locally brewed cider. Recommend this beautifully set inn to anyone as we have come here for a number of years and always had good food and alcohol and atmosphere. Look forward to going back!

The Horseshow Inn is situated in a beautiful area with stunning views, having sampled the specials menu I can state that the Chef knows how to treat food as it matched the views.
The only downside is probably what every hospitality business suffers from the need for service staff balanced the economic pressures, the staff were a little rushed which did mean at times you felt that drinks orders were delayed but don't let this spoil the opportunity to sample the menu.

Unfortunately 4 of our party 05 had the battered cod, good portions but batter way to hard, making the fish dry. 2 had the bread and butter pudding and found it overcooked, ice cream was lovely. Was so looking forward to eating here too. Our party go out for lunch once a month and was hoping we could make a return, but we all agreed it won’t be on our list . The Horseshoe has a lovely view, they supply some seating outside and in the overflow carpark opposite.

First time we have taken 84 year old family member out since lockdown
began due to her being very nervous. No problems here, very well organised. Very hard working staff member managed to organise booked persons plus numerous call inn people out in the sunshince. He was polite and all were happy to comply with him . We had three excellent meals, no complaints at all, freshly cooked and tasty. I don't usually order steak as in many placed it is tasteless, this was well seasonedas, tender and tasty. Happy to recommend on all counts, good food, cold beers and covid safety measures all in place. Thank yoy

We visited when Covid 19 restrictions required us to be outside. There were picnic tables in the car park so the ambience rating given is low (although the view was fabulous).
Managed to get around the booking system App which worked well. Staff were attentive and the food satisfactory but I have had better meals at The Horseshoe. However, I believe this to be a great venue.

It is hard to find any fault whatsoever with this delightful country inn and then on top of all that the location is to die for. Maybe make even more use of the outside space as (admittedly, when the weather is fine) that panoramic view is a huge draw for visitors. Love the place.

Servers were a bit miserable but polite
I thought it was pie night but no mention of it from servers noticed on the way out a small notice of pie and pint
