Fantastic unique dining experience with a sea view in front of you. Relaxed and chilled atmosphere with amazing fresh, beautifully presented food. A real treat and can’t wait to return!!
This is foodie paradise - lobsters and prawns caught in the morning and served for lunch al fresco. Monumental. The setting is almost in the sea and you sit spying weather fronts hunting their way down the Forth. Then there’s the wine. Clearly specially chosen by mien hosts to complement the fish. Delicious. This is what Scotland and the UK needs - a local cafe showcasing local produce but with flair, panache and the excellence of a Michelin star but at good pub prices. The Harbour Cafe will make Elie a must-staycation destination. Superb. We will be back. Thank you.
Lovely lunch, thank you so much. Best lobster and langoustines we’ve had. Beautiful setting and so relaxing.
Fantastic! Felt like being on holiday. Loved it.
The food was delicious and the view stunning. So hard to choose, I could have eaten it all! Would highly recommend.
We enjoyed a lovely lunch with a perfect view. The staff were very friendly and efficient.
We loved it but it helped that it was a stunning day and the dolphins were jumping for us.It was a lovely experience and a reward to us for cycling from St Andrews. We will be back.
Great food, great service, awesome view
Sept 4th. Pretty chilly, rain, sun and wind. Shared a smokie starter. Fab. Then the best langoustine we’ve ever eaten with aioli sourdough new potatoes and leaves. All clearly prepared cooked and served by some spiritual being because it was out of this world. Washed down with a bottle of Picpoul. Flipping heck. Fabulous food, fabulous view, great staff.
Excellent setting right next to sea. Food amazing and service first class. Will definately be back
Despite it being a cold, wet and windy day, the food and service were excellent. And the location, even on such a day is wonderful.
Perfect family lunch at the seaside
This place is little gem! The sea views are unparalleled. Food is fresh and very well prepared. We loved every minute!
Amazing place - would thoroughly recommend. Best seafood shack I’ve been to in the UK!
Absolutely excellent. Food was delicious, the service was friendly & efficient, and the setting was lovely.
Great food and service. The view from the beach cafe is amazing.
Beautiful setting and beautiful food, thank you. Service was excellent.
Delicious food in a delightful setting. My son said they were the best (rosemary)chips he’d ever had. Good simple fresh menu and wine list. benches a bit high for shorter / older adults. Must be v difficult opening up at this time but with windows open, diners distanced, staff in visors, tables thoroughly cleaned and efficient booking system felt v safe. Quite expensive but appreciate there must be higher costs currently involved. Thank you for a lovely summer lunch.
Excellent all round
10/10 for the music too
First class lunch at The Harbour Cafe with stunning fish options on a well balanced menu. It was good for our kids that they could also get other options from the adjoining cafe if needed but they both tucked into the delicious half lobster enjoying the hunt for wvery last piece of the juicy lobster meat. Great setting and highly attentive staff. Highly recommended but best to book in advance!
The gentleman that was our server wasn't having the best shift as he kept forgetting things for us but when we reminded him of any of them he was so apologetic. He even gave us ice cream for dessert on the house to make up for it! It was so lovely and we really didn't mind the mishaps or mix ups because we know what's it like to have a busy day but we really appreciated the nice gesture. We arrived at 2pm and were quite disappointed to be told they were sold out of the three things on the menu that we had planned to have (mackerel pate, dress crab and langostines) After we had had our main meal the chef came to see us and offered us a box of langostines on them, as she knew that we had originally wanted to order them. They had just recieved a delivery once we were tucking into our main meal! We were blown away with the lovely gesture and service ❤ The whole set up of the cafe is amazing; great vibes, lovely wine and the most delicious seafood! Will definitely recommend and hopefully get the chance to go back soon!
Loved everything - the only tiny thing is that I expected the lobster and langoustines to be hot as that’s my preference but I didn’t ask How they were served, both were still amazing! Great place, great staff, great ambiance - like being on holiday !
Not cheap but you get what you pay for - the quality of the food, lovely friendly service, amazing ambience and unbeatable views made this a magical lunch! Can’t wait to come back
Such a wonderful gem in Elie - highly recommend for fresh seafood and wonderful service! x
Excellent food, wine and service but no loo's. Would definitely return though!!
We had a most enjoyable visit yesterday. The service was slow but we had a lovely Hungarian lady who served us and she was delightful. The food was good but maybe a bit expensive. The view is magical. We have been before and will return.
Lovely place, lovely food, lovely staff.
Great wee menu, delicious food and brilliantly friendly service. All with a glorious view - even on a cloudy day. Only two niggles - would have appreciated onsite loos(!!!) and would've at least liked the option to have the lobster warm.
The setting is amazing and the service was very good. I thought the food was a little overpriced for what we had.
Great food in a beautiful setting!
A bit pricey for what we got but staff and service very good. Shame it rained!
deliciously fresh food. Slightly worried re these of cardboard boxes to serve the food in, is it recycled ?
Most enjoyable experience and loved the view so close to the sea Service seemed a bit haphazard although food arrived quickly enough Chips slightly soggy Quite limited menu and perhaps a little expensive for what it was Nevertheless we would come back for a special occasion Not sure why the need to close at 5pm
Great place with great seafood!!
Fabulous location. Wonderful atmosphere. Menu needs bulking out. Having a fish dish on the menu as a main course option for shell fish allergy people is a basic requirement I would have thought! Will definitely be back once the food and drink menu is bulked out.
We've been a couple of times before. I though it was quite expensive then, but the price has been raised to £17.50 throughout. This time my portion of crab was tiny. Such a small amount of white meat and the brown was runny - clearing not the full contents of a crab shell, perhaps divided between two shells, ie. a half portion per shell. Actually, there was an embarrassingly small portion of potatoes as well, possibly less than 100g. We were all still hungry after and the puddings (affogato all round) were necessary to fill up a bit. I really think you need to address this because I'm not sure I'll recommend it again.
Attentive service but slow 15 mins to get table despite booking, 20mins for drinks to arrive. Food quality very good but portions small for what you’re paying, except chips! Children’s choice limited. Would try fish next time but none today. Not sure I would want to sit in next time.
