OUR STORY
opening a café has always been the dream...
And after beating childhood cancer, becoming a fully qualified chef, working in some of Sydney's most popular establishments and changing my focus from chef to business owner in in 2014 when i became legally blind due to a brain tumour, I have finally achieved that dream.
With my guide dog Rocko by my side and the support of the community, I have employed peple of all abilities and together we have designed this café to incorporate accessibility textural elements and contrasting shades to cater for the vision impaired and their companions.

We love visiting for coffee, morning tea, breakfast or lunch. The food and coffee are always delicious. My friends and I were disappointed that the French Toast and corn fritters were not on the menu this time. We understand you have limited your menu, but just wondering if you would consider re introducing the French Toast, even if it is just on the weekends. As always the staff were attentive and friendly.

Fathers Day feast lived up to its publicity.. amazing high quality abundant food which we loved. We were able to take our time over lunch to catch up with our family and even took leftovers home for another meal.
I sent photos to overseas family and they were stunned about how beautiful it was. The carnivores platter and the Vegan platter were unique and superb. We will be back for more another day.

I heard about Blind Chef Cafe on the morning radio, I was so moved by the chef's story I felt compelled to support such a motivating person. My husband, grandson and I enjoyed the Rockos Breakfast Plate which was so generous and tasty, the coffee was fantastic. Only one comment on feeding the dog, the sign on the table was not prominent and my grandson dropped scrambled eggs on the floor which the dog readily ate. We were told not to feed the dog as it made him sick, we would have been more diligent had we known

Food was great, a bit slow getting our meal others who came later served well before us about 45 minutes for food to arrive, were in a darker area which seemed to echo the noise but good when most people had left and hard for hearing aided people

This was our first time to the cafe and we really enjoyed it. We were seated adjacent to the counter, so it was a bit noisy and busy with takeaways and Uber pickups, but didn’t bother us too much. We really liked the fitout which has been tastefully done. Toilets were modern and clean. Had the shrooms on toast and loved it. Recommend putting some corn fritters on the menu for breakfast.

Staff was very friendly, happy. Enjoyed our interaction. Food, though, although well presented, there were a few complaints among us. My friends said their eggs were cold and overcooked for the eggs Benedict and they also said the sauce was cold. They still ate them. I felt my pasta could have been hotter as it was barely warm and there was a tad too much oil but still yummy. I did like the set up. I wish this business well.
