We celebrated our daughter's 8th birthday and we had an amazing experience! We ordered the calamari and Thistle fries as appetizers. The calamari was cooked perfectly and was gone so fast! For entrees we ordered the 4 oz beef fillet, butternut squash mezzaluna and the Thistle burger (with extra thistle fries because they were so delicious as an app). The food came out fast & hot and tasted fantastic. For dessert we chose the in house carrot cake and lemon sorbet - wow both were fantastic and the perfect way to end our meal. The birthday girl wants to come back every year for her birthday!

Everything was excellent. It was the absolute best meal I've had in a long time, and our server, Corina, was very knowledgeable, attentive, and had great suggestions. Only caveat is that it is *quite* expensive. That wasn't a deal breaker for me, because this was part of our once-a-year special vacation, but be aware that if you want to eat well, you're going to pay well too.

Thank you for making my birthday experience a memorable one for me and my guests! I will come again for future gatherings and nice meals. The food was delicious ( I absolutely loved the THICK tomato bisque and my pear and fennel salad!) How yummy! Our sweet helper was kind and courteous, and oh so efficient. We had no wait from the time we arrived, got seated, and were served. The room we were in was quite lovely and comfortable, too.

We come to The Thistle whenever we visit Crystal Mountain. The food is absolutely delicious. And the service is incredible. We sat with the family outside and there were flies from the rose gardens and when my husband swatted one away he knocked over his glass. He asked if we could move to another table and they were kind enough to help us out. The beef filet melted in your mouth... and the seafood fettuccine was delicious. Highly recommend and will fur sure return

Emma took excellent care of us. Hadn’t seen a friend in 3 years. Emma made sure we were taken care of and made suggestions from the menu. And then she just let us be. Thank you Emma. We actually dined two nights in a row. The staff was great. Very attentive and accommodating. The burger was great. Since we dined two nights in a row after skiing and being really hungry, I would have loved to see a pasta dish other than split pea pasta on the menu. Maybe even a chicken sandwich, club, cuban, etc. Personally, for my family, (includes 3 teens), after skiing all day (9am to 9pm) we are hungry looking for something warm, hardy to replenish ourselves.

Ate there once for lunch and twice for dinner. Best Reuben my wide and I have ever had. Better than any I had in NY. The meat was so tender and the bread great. Had Walleye for dinner. Not what I expected. Bad texture and breading. Ribeye was great and so was the Salmon. Both Jordyn and Grace gave excellent service.

All 7 of us ordered the filet and it was by far the best steak we all have eaten in a very long time. The Thistle fries were a hit as well as the calamari. We sat at the family style circular table in the corner and we loved that spot. We had a very sweet young waitress (Emma I think?) and she was awesome and handled the rowdy group of guys in such a great way. We loved our experience and will be back for the conference next year!

My wife and I visited after a 10 year period of time since the last time. Our server Shay was great we had her both days. On Sunday we both had the fillet. My wife needed to sub her potato due to a dairy allergy. She ended up with French fries. It would have been nice to get a couple of steamed red potatoes or even a baked potato. I do understand some things are prepared in the morning. Another choice would have been better. On that same note . The steaks were cooked perfectly both days.
On Monday I had the steak, she had the grouper. The grouper had been out of stock on Sunday. Once again the steak was cooked perfectly. The grouper was not as good as other times at other fine restaurants. Just a hair bland , and quite fishy.
I have never had a bad meal at the Thistle. I do miss the baby back ribs that were on the menu years ago. The best I’ve had to this day . 10 years later. We look forward to eating there each time we ski.
As an end note, Shay was terrific helping my wife find substitutes with the chef. Everyone who greeted us was very professional and happy to be at work. The place was clean and food was served quickly and correct.

We had the best meal I have ever had out. We ordered the Chef's special Walleye over sundried tomato with parmesan and julian carrots. Hat's off to the Chef, looking forward to another delicious meal at the Thistle. See you soon
