My husband and I certainly enjoyed the food, the muscle appi was the bomb! We both had seafood entree's and you did not disappoint. My only negative thing to report is that my take home dish even better today and now I want more! Our server Adriana was pleasant and very good at her job. The live band Allegro even took a request and played it so well it brought happy tears to my eyes. We will return soon and bring guests. I was pleasantly surprised with the bottle of wine I ordered. Never tried the Burrowing Owl Rose before so please keep it on the menu. Thank you for an A+ experience.

This was our first visit to Milano Casa. My husband & I brought another couple and overall, we were very impressed. Beautifully decorated throughout, white linen tablecloths, attentive servers, large portions and affordable prices. We were pleased to have had the opportunity to meet the owner who in turn offered us a special shooter drink! We will definitely return very soon.

Outstanding salmon pasta. Decor and table settings very pleasant. Our only criticism of the ambience was the overly loud opera music playing. Opera not to our taste and loud music makes it difficult to have conversations - especially for older people of whom there are many in this neighbourhood who love to go out for dinner.

Servers were very pleasant and friendly and attentive. We did sometimes feel a bit rushed. Two separate servers attempted to clear plates before our guests were finished and without checking if we were finished first.

Nice to have a new Italian restaurant in the West Point Grey neighbourhood. Having just opened, the service needs to be improved - servers were enthusiastic but somewhat inexperienced. One of our orders (Table of 6 was forgotten). Menu was good, and well priced. Decor was superb. We went on a night with live music and the group was too loud for conversation, despite our excellent table location. Will return and enjoy again.

Everything was first-class, especially Iona our waitress. But it was distressing to be out on a Saturday night in such a fine place, with a good musician playing, and to be sitting in an almost empty restaurant. I'm sure that situation is a lot harder on the owners, but what is the answer?

I found it interesting that I had booked for a "Birthday" celebration, yet at no time were we offered a dessert menu, or a complimentary one. No tea/coffee was offered - do you not serve it? My Veal Chop had to be returned to the kitchen because it was raw in the middle. Staff were all wonderful and pleasant, ambience and music great. Enjoyed our evening. (p.s. short people cannot sit in the chairs by the fireplace - to get feet on the floor big gap at the back.)

Regarding the veal chop, there were 7 orders came at the same time for the veal chop. Our restaurant is very popular with the veal chop dish. They got a switch between different tables and your table. Some clients like the veal chop to be raw in the middle. This was the first time happened in my restaurant. I apologized for that on behalf of my staff. I always make sure every single table is happy with the food and the drink. This is very important to me when I see my guests are happy, and I am happy. For the dessert menu, I always tell my servers to recommend the dessert menu to the table and I will make sure this will never happen. For tea and coffee, we don't offer it to clients until they ask for it. Most of our clients they don't like the servers to serve coffee and tea. You are most welcome to ask our servers for any things you need. I really appreciate your suggestions because every small thing and big thing I take it very seriously, and that's how we can succeed. Overall, very good time, food, atmosphere. The server was pleasant, but initially omitted to check how things were/ whether anything else needed - (e.g. - pepper, grated cheese) after the food was served, but enough servers passing by that we could ask for them. Only other little thing re: service, is that the servers kept picking up our dirty/ used plates SO often, we felt a bit like we were being rushed. Nice that they did it, but a little too fast and often. The live musician, "Chico" was fantastic and made for a wonderful evening of reminiscing over music while eating. Good place - hope it does well!

We visited Casa Milano at Happy Hour - always looking for a good deal! Casa Milano is a beautiful restaurant. I can't think of a restaurant that is comparable - very European, cloth napkins & tablecloths. Live music is offered some evenings (not at Happy Hour). The restaurant was well-staffed, & the staff were very attentive. It was my Mum's 86th birthday & after dinner she was presented with ice cream with a sparkler & singing staff - very thoughtful touch. So, back to Happy Hour... We had perused the Happy Hour menu in advance & had chosen what we'd like to eat - it would be an affordable early evening out. Charcuterie @ $14, soup @ $3x2, Caesar salad @ $8, Mussels @ $12, Gnocchi @ $16, Chef's special @ 10, Wine @ $6x3 - great prices (almost too good to be true!) Totalling $84 & with 18% tip expecting the bill to be $100 in the end - a wonderful Happy Hour deal indeed. Except it wasn't... We ordered off the Happy Hour menu, but were charged more than the listed price for the soup, & the Chef's special wasn't $10. Our final bill with tip came to $150 - 50 more than we were expecting for our Happy Hour celebration. Suggestions for staff in the future: When patrons are ordering from the Happy Hour menu, be sure to clarify prices if they will be different than printed (ie soup & Chef's special). This way your guests won't be surprised or disappointed when they receive the final bill. Also, timing... I would expect the charcuterie to arrive first, followed by the soups & salad, & then the main courses. The food didn't arrive in a streamlined manner - timing was off. Also, when announcing the Chef's Specials, describe them more clearly including ingredients & prices. The lasagna was described as vegetarian (in my mind tomato sauce, lots of veggies & cheese). In fact it, it had a white cream sauce, lots of cheese with a couple of slices of zucchini (delicious, but not what we were anticipating). Casa Milano has potential to be really great w/ some fine tuning.

However, it seems they made an error while inputting the prices. Thank you for bringing this issue to my attention. Concerning the service, our restaurant's mission is to provide a great experience for every guest. Our typical service sequence involves serving bread first, followed by soup and appetizers, then the main course, and finally, dessert. The server may not have heard clearly that you wanted the two appetizers served at different times, so they followed our usual procedure. We will definitely continue to strive and improve in this area. Regarding the dishes, the vegetable lasagna is a new special we introduced due to many customers requesting more vegetarian options. The head chef specifically chose a white sauce to complement this dish. Your feedback will further enhance our dishes and help servers explain the preparation process to customers more clearly. Staff was very attentive. Some of the vegetables were cooked right, some were hard. Our salmon wasn’t hot enough. Pretty important things!
But we enjoyed ourselves and the music and will come back.
