This place is now one of my favourite restaurants, I have now experience evening dinner here, cocktai night with the girls, the cocktails were impressive and carefully made and an afternoon lunching with friends with the 2 courses for £11.50 menu, which is great to have an affordable menu with deliciously tasty food. Staff and welcoming, hepful and friendly,can't wait to go back

This is our 2nd time at Dem Shish and it was also a very busy Mother's Day. Dem Shish did not disappoint! Aveyron high standard of service, Food was excellent and there was also a singer which added to an already lovely day! This is the best eating experience in the area in my opinion! Definitely recommend.

This was my first visit and enjoyed it and will return. Enjoyed the entertainment Service was a little slow and we had to wait a while for drinks. Not sure if this was because we were seated in the corner next to a larger group

The restaurant is beautiful, however the floor is a potential slip hazard as it’s marble and the outside area too especially when raining. Good cocktail selection but my Cosmopolitan want authentic. My friend’s cocktail was though. The staff were a well oiled machine and very courteous but if you missed their designated check in moment you fell out of the well oiled machine and were left with plates for ages and no drinks. The food is beautifully presented and my husband loved his mixed kebab. My chicken princess was lacking in flavour and the chicken was very dry. The restaurant is very vibrant and very loud so don’t plan a romantic dinner there. Overall a nice experience and perfect for a celebration, birthday, group night out and if I go back I’m looking forward to the mixed Kebab.

The restaurant was very cold especially the toilets. We waited a while for drinks. They offered a 20% discount online but when the bill came it wasn’t added on there. So I had to ask it then got deducted from the bill. Also the music was not great playing in the background

Dem Shish is my favourite local restaurant for the food, drinks, decor, service and entertainment. I booked this years birthday celebrations for all of those reasons. Especially as social media advertises a dj on Friday nights. Yes the experience was mostly as good as usual. However, we were very disappointed that the DJ was not on and therefore the Friday night vibe was missing.

Evening dinner with my partner. The decor was very nice, very clean. Service was amazing, special thank you to Anna who was very patient and helpful with my partner who had trouble choosing a main meal. Food was very very good and good value. Drinks were also reasonably priced. We will be eating here again and have recommended to friends and family.

2nd visit to the restaurant, 1st one was brilliant which is why we booked again. 2nd visit was a disappointment, so much so we left and went to another restaurant. We arrived to what looked like a wedding reception, kids running everywhere, loud music so loud we couldn’t talk to each other. Had we known about the wedding reception we would have booked for another day.

We had a lunchtime booking to celebrate a 60th birthday. Sadly, once we were seated and had our first drink, we were then forgotten - the staff disappeared and each time we wanted something (to place food order, request more drinks etc) we had to leave the table to go and find someone. Sadly, not the best experience and would not recommend for a weekday afternoon event.

We had bottomless brunch unfortunately you were unable to keep up with the demand of cocktails. Daniel the waiter was amazing though but I would say in future bottomless brunch is limited to a few people In hindsight I do think your brunches are overpriced

Food very good as was service, although we had to wait over an hour for the starters. It was very busy so that could have been the reason. Once we were served the waiters were excellent. The venue was very noisy as it was so crowded. It could be that the design and layout did not lend itself to a quiet meal. Not the place for a romantic meal for two, but perfect for a large party not intent on too much one to one conversation!

What they have done aesthetically with this restaurant is amazing no doubt. I am also mindful that we ate there on a Monday so the restaurant was quite empty. The service was excellent from the minute we walked in the door. Got drinks very quickly and food ordering was quick and easy. The food was very good as well. Breads and dips put on the table in addition to our starter and mains. This may sound like me making a big thing out of a small issue but there was one thing that let down the whole experience. I ordered the Mixed Shish for main and was asked by the waitress is I wanted any sauces. I asked for a garlic sauce or similar. She returned to say unfortunately they would have to charge for this. I found this a little over the top, but said it was not a problem. I then saw her talking at some length to someone in the kitchen and she then returned and said they would not be able to provide me this as they do not sell it separately! There are at least 3 other very good Turkish restaurants within a 5-mile radius that I have tried and I guarantee this would not have happened in any of the others (from experience!). Therefore, if I take the fact that the food was very good - but no better than the others, the value was ok, but not as good as some of the others, this has put Dem Shish as number 4 of 4 for me, so not sure I will be returning in a hurry!

First time here and on the whole loved it. Walked through the door and nowhere obvious to state when to go or where to wait to be seated. Staff seemed unaware of us standing there so had to grab someone passing in the end and stated we had booked a table. Once seated service was good and constant. Food came in good time and was very nice. We were a table of 2 and felt a little in the way, as staff or other customers had to squeeze through between other tables each time to get past us, but otherwise all good. One suggestion I would like to make is that you are offered a hot towel or wipes at the end of your meal. We both found we had rather greasy hands after eating our main meal and this would have been most welcomed if offered. Great food and shall recommend to friends and family. Many thanks.

Food portions were terrible, chips were hollow and oily. The mixed grill I had was just kofta basically, hardly any shish. My wife had the mixed seafood dish and even that was extremely oily. She also hot 2 prawns in the whole dish. The only plus was the customer service.

We went as a party of 8 to catch up with friends. We have been many times before and found that this time the prices have really gone up. Also we were previously allowed to change rice for chips but now have to pay an extra £2 to be able to do this! I feel this is very cheeky. The service was quite slow and the lamb shank was not as good as we have had previously = not as tasty and portion less generous. We decided to order a pudding over a starter this time but this was a mistake. Starters are definitely better. The puddings were not the quality expected for price paid. The restaurant was quite noisy and the singer/music added to this which made it very difficult to hear. The food is good on the whole but we won’t be returning for a while. It has become quite expensive. Our advice is don’t become too complacent- customers will vote with their feet if your previous high standards aren’t maintained.

We absolutely love going to Dem Shish but we really wish the service would improve. The staff are lovely and friendly but we always find that we wait for a long time between services and have to get their attention a lot to ask for things. Last visit we waited half an hour after getting our mains cleared away for anyone to come about desserts (I asked in the end) and then it was nearly half an hour after this to receive them. That said, we will return as we love the food but this may stop others from returning.

If was a lovely experience from start to finish. The service was great, food was so yummy. We were a table of 14 , the food all came out at the same time and we did not have long to wait. I will definitely be going again and recommending it to friends and family. Xx

The main course was served while still eating the starter and had to be squeezed on the side of the table. It obviously cooled off while we were still finishing starter. Small portion for lunchtime menu.

We absolutely loved it here and will certainly be back! The service was faultless as was the food. The only complaint would be that the music was way too loud. We couldn’t hear one another despite being opposite.
