Roasts were amazing! We had a lamb platter for 2 for the grandparents, 4 Pork and a beef and all were amazingly cooked. The only thing we had to ask for was more gravy for one of them for preference. Booking nans bday next!

We loved it - the new owners have done an amazing job - got the old feel back! Just one suggestion - more vegetables with the mains please -I had a wonderful pie and mash but it needed more veg with it. We thought just a couple of tiny pieces of tenderstem broccoli was disappointing. Oh, and the service was great - the people are lovely. Overall - fantastic. See you soon :)

We went for a roast dinner on a Sunday. The pub itself is lovely and staff were very friendly, however service was a bit slow. The staff weren’t very clued up on allergens, and didn’t actually check if there were any allergies at the table. The staff gave the impression that the kitchen would be a bit inflexible in regards to allergens which gave limited options for that person. Most places will happily accommodate an odd change here and there and potentially even make suggestions on what they could do, but not here- they just implied as is on the menu, that’s it. There was quite a wait between each course although the restaurant was busy, it wasn’t full. The meat was very good and nicely cooked however the veg was overcooked and a bit limp. The cauliflower cheese looked more like soup. They also had no apple sauce to go with the pork, but didn’t say so until after it had been brought out - not the end of the world, but disappointing when you’ve been waiting so long. Additionally the servings came with a very little amount of gravy and the Yorkshire puddings were dry and tough and very small (made with muffin tins rather than yorkie tins for sure!) - it felt like an average roast you would have cooked at home rather than a ‘going out for a meal’ roast. However with the backdrop and the pretty little pub that it is, with friendly staff- it was a nice visit. Probably wouldn’t come back for a roast again though.
