We both had a delightful lunch at the Crown, the pub. Lovely to see a wonderful group of retired gentlemen, taking lunch. The avocado and prawn salad starter followed by Haddock and Chips with a pleasant variation on mushy peas! Along with the service and good beer. Well done.
Aldbourne is a beautiful village a wander around the village before is time well spent.

Lovely atmosphere and welcome, friendly efficient service, hot freshly food cooked to order, the best ham egg and chips ever, the ham was thickly sliced sliced and not thin catering ham and a generous portion. We all had excellent food and very good value. We will be back again and again.

We had a lovely meal, all 3 of us enjoyed our choices. It was for a 99th Birthday.
The Staff all wished my Mother In Law "Happy Birthday", they were all fantastic, and asked her about her life. Our main course food was cooked to perfection, and the desserts were really nice too.
We do usually tip the staff when we go out for meals, and we were made aware that we could ask for it to be removed - but I do think that sometimes it puts people off returning to the venue - however we will be back.

A lovely, friendly pub in a super setting on a square beside the village green. The staff are extremely friendly and very efficient. They have a good range of beers and wines. We had a lovely meal - the venison goulash and stuffed venison were particularly good. It was pleasantly busy for a Friday lunchtime but not uncomfortably so. This was our second visit and we will definitely be going back.

Really enjoyed the experience. It’s a very welcoming pub with a smart restaurant. The service was excellent and friendly. Even the dog was made welcome! I’m vegan and enjoyed the lasagna with extra vegetables.
Next time, I’ll enquire about eating in the bar area, just because it’s what we like! We had our coffees there and we like the pub atmosphere!

We love coming to the crown for lunches with our friends. I had the roast lamb and it was delicious. Could have had one more roast potato though!

Food was lovely, our server was very helpful when I asked whether a dish I wanted had dairy in - she checked with the kitchen & arranged it so that I could still have the dish but without the dairy part. The only negative was my husband’s order of ice cream (taken by a different server) didn’t arrive & after about 25 minutes we chased it up with our original server - she apologised & sorted it straight away. Lovely friendly pub & we’d definitely visit again.

Excellent night out. Plenty of real ales to choose from and exceptional meal was enjoyed. Teriyaki chicken, vegetables with noodles plus beef goulash served with fluffy rice chosen from the specials menu. Our complements to the chef. Staff very friendly and efficient. We will be returning! Thank you Alan for an enjoyable experience.

Always a good outcome, never had a bad meal or poor service. I use the Crown as an infrequent meeting place - everyone I have taken there has been impressed by the service, staff, food and the history that connects it to Dick Winters and E Coy, (Band of Brothers fame).

We had a really warm welcome. The Crown staff were fantastic. It was a lovely temperature in the pub in contrast to the miserable weather. Three of our four mains were absolutely delicious. Unfortunately the fourth meal was not enjoyed but all deserts were super. We shall be booking again but just avoiding the calves’ liver! Many thanks indeed.

Excellent Sunday lunch - the best beef ever. Service was professional and friendly. Great experience in a good old village pub - and in a lovely little village setting. Well worth the visit and we hope to repeat it.

We were the only people in the restaurant seating area as we wanted quieter than the bar and the table service was a little on the slow side for drinks and to take our orders but other than that we couldn't fault the overall experience. Food was delicious and cooked extremely well.
