Lovely traditional pub set by the village green and pond.
Lovely atmosphere and welcome, friendly efficient service, hot freshly food cooked to order, the best ham egg and chips ever, the ham was thickly sliced sliced and not thin catering ham and a generous portion. We all had excellent food and very good value. We will be back again and again.

We had a lovely meal, all 3 of us enjoyed our choices. It was for a 99th Birthday.
The Staff all wished my Mother In Law "Happy Birthday", they were all fantastic, and asked her about her life. Our main course food was cooked to perfection, and the desserts were really nice too.
We do usually tip the staff when we go out for meals, and we were made aware that we could ask for it to be removed - but I do think that sometimes it puts people off returning to the venue - however we will be back.

A lovely, friendly pub in a super setting on a square beside the village green. The staff are extremely friendly and very efficient. They have a good range of beers and wines. We had a lovely meal - the venison goulash and stuffed venison were particularly good. It was pleasantly busy for a Friday lunchtime but not uncomfortably so. This was our second visit and we will definitely be going back.

Really enjoyed the experience. It’s a very welcoming pub with a smart restaurant. The service was excellent and friendly. Even the dog was made welcome! I’m vegan and enjoyed the lasagna with extra vegetables.
Next time, I’ll enquire about eating in the bar area, just because it’s what we like! We had our coffees there and we like the pub atmosphere!

Food was lovely, our server was very helpful when I asked whether a dish I wanted had dairy in - she checked with the kitchen & arranged it so that I could still have the dish but without the dairy part. The only negative was my husband’s order of ice cream (taken by a different server) didn’t arrive & after about 25 minutes we chased it up with our original server - she apologised & sorted it straight away. Lovely friendly pub & we’d definitely visit again.

Excellent night out. Plenty of real ales to choose from and exceptional meal was enjoyed. Teriyaki chicken, vegetables with noodles plus beef goulash served with fluffy rice chosen from the specials menu. Our complements to the chef. Staff very friendly and efficient. We had a really warm welcome. The Crown staff were fantastic. It was a lovely temperature in the pub in contrast to the miserable weather. Three of our four mains were absolutely delicious. Unfortunately the fourth meal was not enjoyed but all deserts were super. We shall be booking again but just avoiding the calves’ liver! Many thanks indeed.

The food and staff were lovely, however we were left unattended too long, we could see that the place was busy and not enough staff to cope, regardless will still come back :)

We really enjoyed our visit to your pub, very nice staff and so were the locals. My only gripe is that we were expecting the full menu as per your web site but were given a very small selection. Had we have known that this is probably nomal for you on a Sunday evening we would have booked for Monday. Nice pub and staff though.

First time at the Crown and the welcome from the staff was fantastic. Great service and atmosphere.
We were a bit disappointed with the food. I ordered a vegetarian burrito which was more like a normal wrap, the could have been warned and the filling was basic and had a raspberry in. I think it should have contained mixed beans and rice.
My husband had a pie which he liked but everything came in separate bowls.
Overall a but disappointed with the food but enjoyed everything else.

Lovely atmosphere and service and good food. My only quibble would be that I only had 7 chips with my burger.. would have preferred more. The sorbet for dessert wasn't great and had lumps of ice in it. But overall a lovely dinner out.

Thank you but allways disapointed if we don't meet our high standard of volume but we have been told many times that we server tomany chips and as they are large chuncky chips, if you had broght this to our attechen we would have given you more as for the sorbet we hare just in process of changing our supplier to Purback made in Dorsett icecream and the sorbet and icecream are of the highest standard now I look forward to seeing you again and taste our fair- Overall: 8/10

We had a lovely meal for my husband’s birthday. We moved to the area 2 Years ago. My husband loves the history of which a lot of Americans stationed at Aldbourne. It was a shame a lot of history was by the toilets. Not on display in the restaurant. Lovely staff will definitely be back.

We really like The Crown, it has a friendly, comfy atmosphere. My main gripe is always the difficulty parking during the evening....Hey Ho it's worth it...

Sadly we were maybe the last table to be served on the day so quite a few things on the menu had run out. The change in chef was noticeable as the last time I went the Yorkshire Puddings were huge and crispy and to die for, these were small, undercooked and stodgy sadly. I know some people like them like that, but not me!
