This is a business that deserves to be supported. It’s a community pub which has great food, a great range of beers and wines and staff who are volunteers dedicated to learning and providing a great service. A fantastic find. As a community owned pub it had a really great feel and the staff were clearly invested in the success of the venture. Great refurb and great atmosphere. The staff were really helpful in managing our meal around our short meeting. The snug was perfect for our needs. Finally the food was fantastic. The chef clearly know their stuff and focussed on a limited choice but all of great quality. The Hake and samphire were exceptional. Will definitely return.

Service was great. Staff extremely attentive and helpful. We had a gluten intolerant person in our party and the staff couldn’t do enough to accommodate her needs.
Food was excellent. Good selection of dishes well cooked and beautifully presented. All three courses were delicious particularly the Flat Iron Steak which was tender and cooked to perfection .. only pet peeve would have preferred homemade chips to accompany rather than generic frozen fries (this seems to be a theme with most pubs these days) just a shame as the steak deserved better. That aside will definitely visit again and will absolutely recommend.

I met friends in this pub for lunch as it is halfway between Dorset and the Cotswolds and we will definitely repeat. The volunteer staff were friendly, warm and welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The meals were lovely (would have liked a small salad with the burger perhaps) and the apple tart was excellent. Can't praise this venture enough - admirable.

Wonderful venue, great ambiance superb food.
Whilst the duty waiting staff were absolutely lovely and so welcoming, they really didn’t have the knowledge or energy levels to do this role justice. . They confused our wine and desserts then there were around 6-8 drinks on our bill that we didn’t have! This was quickly resolved but added to some awkwardness on a second date!!

Excellent. Only complaint was delay before we were able to order and subsequent delay in food arrival (additionally main course was provided 2 stages and steak dish not warm enough). Service and atmosphere very good. I mentioned it was my mum’s 94th birthday on booking, not expecting anything but an acknowledgment would have been appreciated. We certainly like to support this community venture and despite a few little niggles we had a very good lunch.

The ambience, staff attention to customers and food are all excellent. We had two young children with us who were well catered for. We liked the willingness to provide 'off-menu' variations to dishes on request. The booking site is easy to use and comprehensive. This is intended to be a fine dining experience, which it is, but possibly in danger of being slightly over-priced, which may become a deterrent to future regular custom.

Good food selection, lovely friendly staff and nice to see a booming takeaway business as well as headcount eating/drinking in.
