Hello the silks on the downs! First of all I have to say that the overall experience was great, the people were so welcoming and so friendly and we would definitely love to come back again. My only constructive feedback would be on one of our main courses, the mushrooms on toast. It was £15 for a very small portion, I think it would’ve been fine as a starter and priced less, but as a main with no extra garnish or additions to the meal it seemed a bit overpriced. The other mains we had and deserts were very nice though!

I am in an electric wheelchair, the access in and to the table were brilliantly easy to get in and too. The staff were absolutely marvellous, so helpful and really pleasant. Food was good especially the chips.

A fantastic find. As a community owned pub it had a really great feel and the staff were clearly invested in the success of the venture. Great refurb and great atmosphere. The staff were really helpful in managing our meal around our short meeting. The snug was perfect for our needs. Finally the food was fantastic. The chef clearly know their stuff and focussed on a limited choice but all of great quality. The Hake and samphire were exceptional. Will definitely return.

Service was great. Staff extremely attentive and helpful. We had a gluten intolerant person in our party and the staff couldn’t do enough to accommodate her needs.
Food was excellent. Good selection of dishes well cooked and beautifully presented. All three courses were delicious particularly the Flat Iron Steak which was tender and cooked to perfection .. only pet peeve would have preferred homemade chips to accompany rather than generic frozen fries (this seems to be a theme with most pubs these days) just a shame as the steak deserved better. That aside will definitely visit again and will absolutely recommend.

I met friends in this pub for lunch as it is halfway between Dorset and the Cotswolds and we will definitely repeat. The volunteer staff were friendly, warm and welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The meals were lovely (would have liked a small salad with the burger perhaps) and the apple tart was excellent. Can't praise this venture enough - admirable.

We had a lovely meal and the staff were extremely helpful with dietary requirements and changing menu items to accommodate this. Our only request would be that the Caesar salad main course be a larger portion.

Fantastic family Sunday lunch at the Silks. Loved the pork belly with crackling and all the trimmings (love that you get yorkshire pudding with pork as well as with the beef). Great kids' menu too and a warm, friendly atmosphere with excellent service. We will be back.

We had the steak deal on the Thursday evening. The meal was excellent enjoyed every mouthful. Pudding was good but on the small side. The staff were very friendly. We had a very enjoyable Thursday evening and would definitely return for another meal.
