Sous Sol is my favourite restaurant in the city. I'm vegetarian and always love the beet tartare, and this time I also ordered the cabbage and I am STILL thinking about it. Carrots are also amazing, and the G & T is also my favourite in the city. Just the best.

Everything was exceptional as always! The mushrooms and scalloped potatoes are always sublime. The kale was buttery and delicious. My husband loved the wild boar and our friend raved about the steak. I enjoy the dimly lit atmosphere but appreciated them turning on just a couple of lights in the evening (as it was getting a little too dark). It was our third time there - we always enjoy it, and enjoy taking our friends for a unique experience, thanks so much!! :-)

I needed a night out where the food wasn’t something I could make at home. I needed creative and inspired and that is what we got! From my amazing cocktail, the snow queen, that could easily be renamed the spring princess for the April, to our appetizers and our main. The ambience once in the restaurant is good and unique. Here are a couple things to make it really be worth the money: - clean it up (vacuum the entrance as it's filthy, dust, make sure the women's washroom is working, quality of service is depicted by the entire place, from entrance to exit, make it ALL comfortable and clean) - the food was unbelievably salty this time compared to all the others, perhaps take that down a notch and folks can add salt as needed - the font in the menu is really difficult to read in dim lighting. Use full cursive or something like Arial or Calibri that has more defined letters.

Loved the lack of signage... it felt like being let into a secret place. The decor is perfect. Server was wonderful and gave good suggestions. Food was quality and delicious. Price is on the high side otherwise we'd be regulars! Maybe toss in a basket of bread so it doesn't feel like we're being charged for every extra crumb and utensil.

We had a lovely dinner for four , never disappointed in the ambiance of the restaurant, the food is always perfect. Additionally, the staff are so friendly and helpful. I was even supplied with a pair of readers when I forgot mine at home . Cailee our server was very attentive, but not overly so. All in all it was a perfect evening celebrating my husband‘s birthday.

We really enjoyed our night out at Sous Sol. The food was amazing, the real candles, music, tasteful decorating made the evening special. Our waiter was amazing - he was able to answer all our questions easily about the menu - food and drinks. He checked in at great moments and never felt like he was over bearing. His bright attitude and service he provided was by far the best service we have ever had in Winnipeg. Definitely a do over for us! Thanks Sous Sol.

Our experience was fantastic. The food was delicious. The staff was lovely. Funny story - the day before we did a dry run to try to find the restaurant and Google maps kept telling us we had arrived. It took us a few times around the block and through the alley before we saw the awning from the picture. We were glad we had done that the day before so we were not late for our reservation on the day of. It was a fun adventure. Hope to be back again soon.

After a long stressful day, my dinner here was the absolute best !! Good luck only picking a few choices, as the menu is a winner top to bottom and it was all perfectly prepared. I had at least 3 different people coming and going to make sure my table was full, and they were all very lovely and helpful. I am not a rich man, but I did make sure to overtip to show my appreciation. I wholeheartedly recommend Sous Sol to anyone with a pulse. It is a beautifully appointed location, filled with beautiful and helpful people, serving beautifully prepared and tasting food. I don't live in Winnipeg, but will come back to dine here any and every time I ever return.

Started with oysters and the beets tartare. Both were delicious. Our server was amazing, helped us choose dishes and answered all of our questions. The place is a little dark. Reading the menu by candlelight is a little challenging. Not enough to keep me away though. A cozy atmosphere that doesn’t disappoint. Highly recommend.

This restaurant had been on my radar for a few years, we just could never fit it into our schedule. We finally had an opportunity on Good Friday, and it was well worth the wait! The food and cocktail pairings were absolutely delicious! The staff were excellent and eager to serve. We will definitely be returning!

Always a great experience at Sous Sol. Started with oysters and beef tartare. Both were delicious. An entree of duck and trout was next and both met our expectations. We’ve been a few times now and we will continue to go back. Highly recommended
