The Plough Inn - a family-run free-house restaurant in Far Forest, Worcestershire. Far Forest is a beautiful, rural location lying between the picturesque towns of Bewdley and Ludlow. Our traditional interior is inviting and cozy with open fires and original beams. It is a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere which suits any occasion. Our welcoming team enhances its rural charm and fabulous cuisine complemented by a wide range of real ales, wines, and beverages. This is a popular haunt for walkers, cyclists, families and provides the perfect setting for an afternoon or early evening drink when the sun is out. Not only is the Plough renowned for one of the best carvery’s in the area, but it is also one of only two official AGA carveries in the UK. The other being our sister pub Ye Olde Punch Bowl Inn, Bridgnorth. We also offer a diverse A La carte menu, created by our team of chefs. All ingredients are locally sourced from reputable suppliers, and the emphasis is placed on using the freshest and tastiest produce. All cuisine is freshly prepared on-site. A little disappointed when got there , as they told us we not booked, showed them on phone confirmation, then told that was a waste of time doing that was , next time best to ring plough direct , so that's what I shall do , everything else 10 out of 10

Good job I phoned the venue as there was no booking for us. They told me that they had not used your website for over 12 months. Very disappointed but they did set up a table although they were fully booked.

When we arrived only to be told they they dont use Table Agent for booking anymore and I had no booking! I showed them a confirmation email and said I had also telephoned 3 days before to confirm booking, they said 'oh' lets see 'if' we can fit you in. Luckily they did, food were good and it turned out OK, but could had been a nightmare! Would only book over the telephone in future and reserve a window seat as a lot of tables are inside with no view or natural light. Dont think I would go there again, there are plenty of other restaurants offering better more organised service for the same money!

To say how very busy you was we couldn't fault anything. The meat and veg was excellent really enjoyed it and all the staff was so pleasant to say they was rushed off there feet. We love it that we can bring the dog and it is in a lovely quiet area very nice. Cannot wait for our return.

You allowed me to book a table on here for my mums birthday and when I arrived they had no table and no food as they don’t take bookings with yourself. My mums birthday meal was ruined. They have told me they have tried contacting you several times to cancel this service with no success!!

There was a warm atmosphere on arrival, taken promptly to our table. Felt it was a shame that you had to pay and order at the bar as it interrupts conversation and company, i understand the reason for this but it would be better if youvdidnt have to keep getting up for drinks . I asked for chips with the salmon but was told this was not possible , it was new potatoes and no flexibility which meant I ordered something else. Didn't really see what difference it would of made and wasn't very accommodating considering chips were on the menu anyway . The starter was cold (spring roll) when it arrived but didn't complain as could see the staff were busy. The main course fish was a good portion size but a few more chips would of been nice, they were hidden under the fish. There was plenty of choice for dessert but was served on a hot plate which meant the ice cream had melted before I got back to the table . The staff were very pleasant and generally helpful though when we asked what the pie of the day was the waitress didn't know which wasnt helpful, feel staff should ge briefed to know what the menu is. The meal itself was value for money and a good portion size. Having spent many years working and managing in the hospitality industry I feel that some simple adjustments could very much improve the service and the standards provided.

Pub welcoming, staff professional but friendly.
Beef looked delicious but was quite tough pleased that I had a slice of Turkey as well which was so nice and tasty.
Only one thing that needed improvement were the knives which were all very blunt.
Will be returning soon.
