As you see, I’m delighted with all aspects of Bistro fining—except for one very important thing. The system for making a reservation is insane. Do you know that if you don’t get to make your reservation between midnight and 1 AM a week in advance for a table for 4, you’re likely to be shut out. If you can get a reservation, it may be for 6:30 or 6:45, when specials are often no longer available and when you feel uncomfortable staying for a normal casual dinner because you know staff wants to go home. This approach is demeaning and a hardship. Please change it.

Overall the food is excellent, especially the fresh fish, rare beef, grilled chops and more. However, the seasonings are usually too spicey for me and the potatoes are often undercooked. The vegetables could be simpler rather than stewed. The gelato dessert is good (better than some gooey cake), but cookie is too sweet. The ambience is what it is, but it is often uncomfortably chilly. Good luck!

My husband and I have enjoyed several dinners at The Bistro and every time has been wonderful. Each of the dinners has been carefully structured, expertly prepared and presented—in other words, perfect. The menus are unique and it’s a treat to have some unusual dishes with delicious spices and sauces. We love being able to make a reservation and having it honored. We love the ambiance with its low lighting and soft music in the background. The staff members are always friendly and informed. You ask what can be done better. The only I have noticed is that sometimes the pepper grinders are empty and need to be replaced. (Actually this isn’t necessary. The chef has always seasoned everything to perfection!). We LOVE The Bistro

This place is fabulous! I rarely order salads as a meal. My mouth is still watering from the last salad I had there - magical, creative combination of chicken, cashews, corn, and at least 15 other ingredients. I rarely order pizza. Last night, I cried from first to last bite. Again, ingredients I would never have considered. I LOVE THIS PLACE! MORE, MORE MORE!

We had a delicious dinner and prefer The Bistro to all the dining options at Foxhill. The food is excellent, portions very ample, service general good (these waitresses are never crabby or rude to the patrons, and the ambience is good. I like that lights are dimmed and music is playing, and most tables have ‘candlelight’. The only disappointment is that sometimes the special item is all gone at a very early hour.

Our on-site Bistro restaurant is a true gem within our senior facility. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared - from savory grilled meats to crisp salads and warm pita bread. Our experience at the Bistro was excellent. My only complaint is the cost of bringing a guest, which I realize is not the fault of the Bistro. Ambiance & Maitre d’ are outstanding. Soup & special appetizer very good. Pad Thai a bit bland, lacked savory/sweet/sour depth of flavor (even with fresh lime—which was nice), though we appreciated it was not overly sweet, typical of Westernized versions. We really like the creative menus, the freshness and very flavorful preparations, the attractive presentations (including the interesting metal dinnerware)! Perhaps the sodium could be reduced a smidgen. The little candles and greenery are a nice touch, as is, of course, the fireplace! The relaxed atmosphere If the lighting could be reduce a bit more, that would help. The focus on health is much appreciated!
This will be our go-to place for dinner (except when I need a chocolate infusion).

We LOVE the food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!On 10/11 we had the dolmades for appetizer and chicken for main course that were outstanding. Liked the pistachio gelato very much.
On 10/13 we had the Harvard beets and labneh which was phenomenal!
We also had the pounded chicken -excellent!
The raspberry sherbet was excellent and Luis is to be commended for the incredible biscotti!!! We want to eat in the bistro every night!Congrats to Josh, the new chef and staff. Also loved the blue water glasses last night!

Overall we loved The Bistro. The food especially was simple and delicious and portion size was perfect. Our only complaint was the lack of ambience. If the lights in the adjoining classroom could be turned off that would help and please turn the lights down! Far too bright for dinner to be “an experience.” I also suggest using small battery operated candles on each table to give some ambience. A small flashlight might be available for those who need more light for reading the menu…tho there isn’t much to read! The music added a nice touch of ambience!

The pumpkin soup was delicious. I had the chicken as a main course but the toasted pita served with it was over-baked and too brittle to eat. Perhaps basmati rice next time or Indian nan? And skip the pomegranate seeds!

we loved the coffee gelato. The entrees were excellent except the bread that accompanied the mussels was dropped and the bread that was returned was very charred.
The table for two was one of those where you are not sure which room you are in. We should have come earlier.
Would like to evaluate the dinner for 4 the following night Wed. 6th.

My feta ap, main course (chicken) and Dani’s cookie were excellent.
I appreciate having sorbet available for dessert. It is refreshing at the end of the meal.

The pork chop was wonderfully tender and tasty. The pork belly the night before was a great dish but too salty. It could have done without the bacon that was too hard to eat. Crab rangoons very good.
We appreciated the table for 5 away from the draft.

We had the chow mien. It was delicious but difficult to eat, especially in the small, shallow bowls. Could the noodles be cut in half before cooking? (This would apply to other dishes in which the same noodles are used.)
The gelato has become tiresome. Could there be an alternate dessert option some nights to break the monotony of gelato every night?

Last night (Tuesday) was one of the best meals we have ever had at the Bistro. Entrees: Taco Salad and Pork. The special apt: grape leaves etc. Choices were hard to make because of excellent variety. The service was quick, efficient and pleasant.
The only improvement we would like to see: On the patio place a few tables for two along the railings for better view and more air circulation.

Service was great! Soup was delicious even though it had a little "bite",and I really enjoyed the way the spinach was prepared. Yucca fries and steak were also very good. All four of us were disappointed that the Pistachio gelato was gone.

Loved the music. Food was delicious and interesting. Service was helpful and attentive. Not much you can do about it, but being of small stature, table seems high to me. Pleasant time.
