This is what I call a classic Italian restaurant, the way a restaurant should be. Food was excellent but be warned that you must come with a big appetite. We were going to order a salad before dinner but there was no need since the serve you 4 courses not that a la carte stuff where everything is a separate charge just complete your dinner. We went for my birthday celebration and the food was plentiful and on point. The Kamb chops were amazing and a huge portion double cut. The meat balls were delicious as well and our waiter was very attentive. We will most definitely be returning soon.

The food, service and atmosphere are always consistently good and it was the perfect place for a quiet dinner before the DSO event at Orchestra Hall. The valet parking and shuttle service made for a pleasant experience for the entire evening. We have not been to Mario's in some time and it was great to go back again and we will return soon!

The service and the food were amazing. Ray was our waiter and did an excellent job. Unfortunately, I ordered Chicken Mario and the chicken was tough. The other diners at my table were extremely pleased with their meals. The shuttle service to several downtown venues is certainly an added bonus to an overall amazing experience.

I took my young ladies out for a Mommy/daughter night out Christmas gift. We had a very enjoyable dinner. The entire staff was wonderful. Especially the young man who was there to clean up. I don’t get his name. He took a picture of us by the fireplace and conversed with us while waiting to clear the table. He really made us feel special.

The dining area was dirty. Tables needing to be bussed. Full serving trays of dirty plates and linens near where patrons sat. Obviously not enough staff. No offer of refilling water. 102 dollar bill was asked to be split evenly and was split as 58 dollars each check. Food tasted fine, but the overall experience was very disappointing.

We had a fabulous dinner and celebration at Mario's on Sunday evening. I had last visited Detroit and Mario's in 1974, when I was 16! I was delighted that I could introduce my husband to the restaurant, that I have fond memories of! Gino was our server and we couldn't have been more pleased! He even sang a little opera for us! We're so glad we had a memorable dining experience!

We sadly did not get to experience the food at Mario's as we had reservations for 6 weeks and nobody was at the hostess stand to check us in or the other 50 people with reservations. We were really looking forward to trying Mario's out for our Thanksgiving dinner, but we will not be back again.
