We are now excited about our expansion in Morningside, marking our second venue.
The Edinburgh Larder Café has built a solid reputation as being the place to eat seasonal, locally sourced, and tasty food. We’re not shy to mention that we’re well known for our legendary brunch too!
Our regular favourites include a mighty full breakfast, veggie breakfast, eggs benedict or smoked cod, chorizo, and potato hash with a poached egg. We also love lighter options like a buttery breakfast bap or our porridge cooked to order with a selection of seasonal toppings and toasted nuts. All to be enjoyed with expertly crafted coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice.

This was my second visit to The Larder, and it did not disappoint! The service was exceptional, and I appreciated both members of staff who served us that day being so chatty & friendly. Food was exceptional, excellent value for money and good-sized portions. I've rated the food as a 9 only because my baked beans were a little al dente, but this can absolutely be forgiven and didn't take away from the overall experience. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant for brunch!

Gorgeous brunch - warm and friendly service. A quiet Wednesday in January and the staff were very happy for us to chat for as long as wanted. The trout on rosti and the beef with eggs Benedict were delicious. We will be back!

Allow tables for 1 to be booked at 8:30am; the earliest time offered was 9am, so I had to book my table for 2 instead. The booking confirmation included a section titled "Request / Occasion" but I did not ever see an option for entering anything under this. On several occasions I was given links to modify my booking but whenever I tried to use them I was informed that it was not possible. Perhaps consider not offering the link if they cannot be used.

Lovely experience, had been recommended by a friend so booked online and was warmly welcomed on the day, its was my husband's 50th birthday and he was treated as a VIP including a lovely rhubarb cake to take away at the end. Food was delicious, a bit expensive for the quantity but spot on for the quality. Service was warm and friendly throughout. Only feedback to help would be to fix the booth seats as each time the person behind me moved I was bumped and they weren't particularly comfortable as very upright and narrow space to squeeze into. So next time I would definitely choose a more comfortable seat and enjoy the lovely staff longer. Thank you

We did enjoy our first visit to The Edinburgh Larder, and overall the food was nice, however, there were a few things which were a problem. The main criticism was that we watched the chef place one of the meals at the pass, and it sat there for about 8 minutes, waiting for the other dishes to join it. As a result, this meal was lukewarm and partially dried out, by the time it was served. Because we were celebrating a birthday, we decided not to mention this to the waitress, as we didn't want to spoil the occasion. Normally, I would have no hesitation in speaking to the staff regarding something like this. The other thing which I did not like, was the addition of the service charge added to the bill. Diners should be able to tip what they believe the meal and service was worth, and not be embarrassed into paying a set service charge.

Lovely place with delicious food and friendly staff, but when I am paying that kind of money for a vegan breakfast, I expect vegan spread to be available for my toast. I had to eat dry toast as I was informed that there was no vegan spread.
