The staff welcome was lovely and the service was brilliant. My mum got the fish and chips and she said it was lovely but a bit much for her so next time she will order a small plate. Myself and my sister-in law got the steak pie which was beautiful, fantastic menu. Keep up the good work will certainly be back x Sara Hughes

First time at the Crown since it changed hands. Excellent menu, as well as the kids menu, great choice. Service was exceptional. Catered for my grandchildren, nothing too much bother. Our party had the Scampi, Steak Pie and Katsu chicken curry. All amazing. Will definitely be back and would not hesitate to recommend.

Overall it was lovely however the breaded fish was a bit dry/overcooked and my daughter would have preferred the garlic mayo to be served on the side of the mozzarella sticks and not drizzled over as it was a bit much.

Food was fabulous, service excellent and the revamp of the restaurant has worked really well.
I had the chicken, ham and leek pie, which was a proper pie, not a stew with a puff pastry hat.
My mother had the featherblade of beef which looked amazing, and she said it was delicious.
Well certainly be back, hoping that the steak pie might also become a real pie one day too.

Starters I had felt too big, I was unable to eat half my main course. Food was delicious and tasty. We will be back ut will choose wisely now we know not to ask for shredded katsui chicken Starters delicious though it was. Definitely will return and staff welcoming and friendly.

Staff very good - friendly and professional. The restaurant is comfortable and nicely busy. We enjoyed the food although the Mediterranean pie was a wee bit over toasted - however plenty of it - chips and salad were good.
Livingston has a dearth of restaurants and The Crown at Harburn is a very welcome addition.

Very friendly staff. Carafe of iced water should be placed on table with glasses for everyone regardless of purchasing drinks. Overall very good. Could chat and catch up with guests without it being too noisy with loud music. We were not rushed, to move on. Well done. Will be back

The food was very good. Fish tacos starter was delicious however was served in a dish which was difficult to get them out of. Service is always pleasant however to order drinks was a little slow and we were told we could get wine with the steak pie in a deal however when we were asked if we wanted small or large wine, we chose the large, but it was not explained to us that large wine was not included in deal and we therefore had to pay full price for the wine. I have eaten here approx 6 times and I really like the food however the speed of service to take drinks and refills etc is an area which could be improved easily and would make the experience even better.

Lovely setting looking over the golf course. Nicely decorated and clean. Excellent choice across 3 menus with good vegan options. Only issue was no vegan ice cream with the delicious rhubarb and ginger dessert as advertised which was OK as server did apologise but offering to deduct something off the bill would have been nice as there was no alternative for customer's dietary needs. There was also no diet coke in tins. Portion sizes very good. There were only a small handful of tables occupied at the time of day and the bigger party in were placed far away from the smaller parties which was good. However we were pretty close to the next occupied table when it could have been spaced out a little more for privacy of chat. I would return as it was a positive experience.

It was a quiet Tuesday so lacked a bit of atmosphere. I wonder if it is possible to section a bit of the restaurant off to make it feel more intimate.
The mac n cheese wasn't good I'm afraid - it had a sweet taste

Firstly, thank you. The staff were very attentive and happy. This review is solely to wish you success and feedback is genuinely to offer points to consider, not to complain.
Food good. Sticky toffee pudding best yet ( id like the recipe) , beef cooked to perfection. Veg par cooked.
Choc cake dry without ice cream or custard.
I'd look at how food dressed on the plates.
Room ( with partition open) feels too big with the big open space and highlights the old carpet. I hoped the Crown would stamp their own design on the room. Perhaps change the carpet as people associate it with Bistro 19 and it doesn't look fresh anymore, although I'm sure it's been cleaned etc.
Music eve great idea to fill the large room, but if there was a focal point in the room it would be cosier ( like a cosy big fire) on quieter evenings. and some indoor plants/ flowers. The room now feels warehouse like.
Could you consider reinstating the set midweek menu? The venue was always busy then, but when we came, we were the only people there for an hour.
Real candles were lovely on the tables.
I love both The Crown ( with its bar vibe) and Harburn with the golf views, but client group differ so I think Harburn needs to be a little more formal. Ditch the trainers and casual dress of staff. I think golf clubs are a little more formal than pubs, so folks dress up a little to come.
I hope this is taken in the spirit intended as I want the Crown at Harburn to succeed.
£25 more expensive than previous visits to Harburn and not sure that was good value on this occasion, however realise costs are high.

Starters felt too crammed into the small ramikin dishes- tricky to eat from when so full. Lack of starter choices for kids. Shredded chicken starter - does not mention it is spicy on the menu. Asked for steak medium - came more well done.
