It was my first visit. Very easy to make a reservation and it was honored on arrival. The women who greeted us and was our waitress was fantastic - very helpful and checked back in appropriately. I had the pork belly hash - it was wonderful. Highly recommend it and would love to return to try more. I took the ambience rating down one because the space did not seem to match the elevation of food. It felt dark and kind of dive-bar-ish but the food felt elevated and fresh so it was a mental contradiction. Lots of scuffs on the walls, seemed like dated movie posters for art work, very dark paint. Place would look amazing with a fresh coat of paint and new wall art! Overall though the food and service were top-notch and that's the perfect recipe!

The service was excellent and the food was good, although perhaps a few too many exotic ingredients?? The ambiance was fun. The floor is VERY slippery throughout the restaurant (at least in the flat soled sneakers several of us were wearing)

I ordered the onion soup from the app section of the menu. It was I think an 8oz crock. For the price, I'd have liked a couple more ounces. The flavors, however were very nice. A perfectly seasoned broth. My guess is that an onion stock was made as well as a beef stock or confit given the nice onion flavor of the soup with few actual onions. The flavors layered beautifully. In lieu of croutons I was p happily surprised to see a square of bread with a bit of cheese on top. I was very pleased with my soup. I also ordered an Old Fashioned. well made and presented nicely but skimpy given it cost more than meal. My server was warm and pleasant and appropriately attentive. The volume of the music could do with lowering. when sitting sitting so near other diners, it's difficult to engage in conversations with us all having to talk above the music. So far I have had 5 items on this menu and was disappointed by the preparation and flavor only one which was the Mac N Cheese. I like mine creamy not oily. I look forward to sampling more of the menu.

We had Sunday brunch at Hemlock House. The restaurant has a nice, cozy nieghborhood feel. Zack, our host/server, was extemely personable and efficient. The food (esp the French Toast) and cocktails were EXCELLENT! We will definitely be back for dinner some evening.

Hemlock house is a gem! The food is unique and amazing. The wait staff is attentive but not overwhelming and always have great suggestions for food and drink. The ambiance is stellar and I am always looking forward to my next visit.

The food was excellent as usual. Everyone loved what they ordered. Best burgers in Pittsburgh, and that includes Impossible burgers. It took us quite a long time to get our food, and it was very loud in there. In the end it was worth it...

Its a lovely place with an interesting menu. My only issue was the cosmopolitan I ordered when we arrived. Your bartenders need to take some basic lessons. Everyone at the table tasted that drink and we all agreed it was not a cosmopolitan. It was basically lemon juice and vodka. Do better!!

The wait staff was very attentive. The dishes were very inventive, though you may have gone a little overboard with multiple sauces and toppings on a single dish. The cocktails were delicious and we enjoyed our dinner.
