Executive Chef and owner of Osetra, Vincenzo Lo Verso, brings more than 25 years of experience to the table. Born and raised in Sicily, he was constantly surrounded by two things: family and food. A family oriented man, Chef Vincenzo Lo Verso takes great care to ensure that all patrons are welcomed into his restaurant as if they were being welcomed into his home. He can be found in the kitchen creating and exploring new flavor combinations with his staff or out on the restaurant floor meeting clientele for business dinners or simply getting to know his guests. His friendly and charismatic character permeates the restaurant’s atmosphere, as well as his culinary compositions. His innovative dishes are inspired by spices of the world and infused with the spirit of Italy.
As owner and executive chef of Osetra, along with its sister restaurants and his new pizzeria in Hillcrest named Oregano; Chef Lo Verso has become quite the master at balancing his businesses as well as the ingredients in his dishes. His culinary curiosity remains at a peak and shows no signs of a plateau any time soon. He treats his restaurant staff like close family members and thereby creates a cohesive restaurant team. He also continuously turns out some of the most delicious recipes with the freshest ingredients. Chef Lo Verso also supports local farmers/ growers and genuinely loves the restaurant business. He thoroughly enjoys watching people’s eyes light up with delight and satisfaction before, during, and after they take a bite of some of his creations. In other words, he constantly strives to bring happiness to others and consistently succeeds.
Besides great food, Osetra’s hospitality is unparallel and very much in sync with Italian tradition. Since he grew up in the kitchen, Chef Lo Verso welcomed my guest and me as if we were family. He even joined us for drinks that Tuesday night. It’s not often that you are able to go out and actually spend time getting to know the chef, but we did. We sat around the table laughing, discussing our mutual love for food, friends, and family.
