The Cliff House sits on a bluff over Commencement Bay in Northeast Tacoma boasting panoramic views of Mount Rainier, the Puget Sound, and the Tacoma skyline. Since 1925 the Cliff House has been a landmark in the Pacific Northwest.

Reservations within one hour of closing time may be seated in our downstairs dining room with a view.

We loved meeting the chef and that he came over to our table to introduce himself. That made everything perfect. The french fries could be a little bit more fancy and not shoestring. And it'd be nice to know that the bread before the meal cost money. But that the chef was so kind and friendly made everything worth it.

We celebrated a birthday at the Cliff House and all I can say is that not only was the food absolutely amazing but so was the service. They brought out a beautiful birthday cannoli for my girlfriend and went out of their way to make a delicious cup of espresso for her. I highly recommend The Cliff House.

Our great experiences started when we first found this place after moving up from Phoenix. They never disappoint here! Last night's special was incredible! The bacon wrapped scallops were really enjoyed by my hubby (Richard) as it was super quiet on that side of the table, lol. Thanks to Lisa & Ashley for another great dining experience!

We came for dinner at Cliffhouse to celebrate our 20th anniversary, and it was awesome! We arrived a little early and the hostess was able to seat us right away. The kitchen was slammed by trivia night in the bar, but our waitress let us know what was going on and gave us our choice of free appetizer while we waited. The ambience was so great we didn’t mind. Then to top it off the kitchen sent us some cannoli with “happy anniversary” written in strawberry glaze. So good!

I had the lobster and shrimp fettuccini. It was amazing. The shellfish was tender. The lobster sauce was buttery and creamy. I'm still floating on the memory of how good it was. I also had the lemon cello cake. Yum. The wait staff was attentive, helpful, and friendly. One of our party is gluten free and they were accommodating. One of our party is 11 years old. He wanted extra maraschino cherries and they were sweet about that too. We're talking about going back soon.

The only downside was that we were seated right in front of/behind 4 people who arrived at the same time & it was a little difficult to have a conversation without including them as we felt like we got a great update on their present & future travel plans, etc., I’m sure this was done to make things easier on service but the restaurant wasn’t very full & would’ve been better a table or 2 away

Ashley our server was wonderful! Can't say enough about her. The food was great at the restaurant. However, my wife had some pretty serious digestive issues through the night and we had nothing else after the dinner.
I didn't look at the menu and pricing before I booked and that's on me. As good as everything was, it was an extraordinarily expensive meal. As much as we enjoyed our service, with the issues my wife dealt with after, and the cost for your items, we will not be back.

The Cliffhouse has methodically reinvented itself as one of the premiere dining destinations in the entire South Sound. Everything about our visit, which was to celebrate our anniversary, was exceptional. The staff was professional and welcoming and attentive throughout the duration of our visit. The food was Heavenly. One of the better steaks I've had in recent memory. And the ambiance and atmosphere is lively but intimate. We had an absolutely enjoyable experience.

My lady friend and I celebrated her 85th birthday and had a wonderful meal of scallops and prawns. you also provided a canaloni dessert which was most enjoyable... Your servers were friendly and efficient. Someone made it even better by paying for our meal - fantastic!!!

This was our second visit to the Cliff House restaurant. Both occasions were very special (birthday/anniversary & prewedding dinner for daughter) and they did not disappoint in making it a memorable occasion. The view is spectacular and the service was excellent. The portion sizes could be a bit bigger for the price, but I could afford to lose a few pounds! lol From the drinks to the dessert we all enjoyed our special evening celebrating the night before our daughter's wedding and getting to know our future son-in-law. We look forward to celebrating there again soon!

Very hospitable from arriving, being served, to leaving. Great views. Hoped to have crab or shrimp Louie salad, but not offered. Could not have asked for better service, clean surroundings and given time to eat and visit with out guest. We will come back. Thank you for taking good care of us.
