A Taste of Italy at Olivetto Ristorante & Wine Bar

Olivetto Ristorante & Wine Bar

Find the warmth of Italy at Olivetto Ristorante & Wine Bar located in the newly refurbished Paseo de Mission Hills. The restaurant sits inside a red-roof historical building next to the neon Mission Hills sign. Through the doors, a welcoming atmosphere awaits guests, where racks of wine bottles and the original exposed brick create a comfortable setting. Aromas of rich pasta and wine diffuse from the kitchen, enticing customers as they enter.

Both dinner and lunch menus feature Italian classics with a modern flair. Begin a meal with the Melanzane Ripiene, eggplant stuffed with ricotta, spinach, and mozzarella cheese, or Olivetto’s Bruschetta made with farm fresh tomatoes, basil, and garlic, drizzled with a balsamic reduction, olive oil, and grana padano Italian cheese. Traditional Antipasti options like the Caprese Salad and Calimari Fritti will also please hungry patrons.

Olivetto’s pasta menu will delight guests with its robust selections like Spaghetti Allo Scoglio, seafood pasta in white wine sauce, or the homemade ravioli. Unconventional creations like the Ravioli de Pere dish are an exciting new take on traditional Italian stuffed pastas. The Ravioli de Pere is filled with ripe pears, mascarpone cheese, and caramelized walnuts; it is a vegetarian dish that is sure to please everyone.

The Secondi Piatti courses offer meat and fish dishes with favorites like the Scaloppine al Limone, veal medallions in lemon-wine sauce, and Pollo al Marsala, chicken in Marsala wine sauce. All the Secondi Piatti plates are served with a generous helping of mixed vegetables and potatoes.

Make sure to accompany dinner with a glass of wine from Olivetto’s solid wine list. Both domestic and imported wines are featured, with emphasis on Italian reds. Bottles are reasonably priced, averaging around $30 - $40, but there are many great wines that can be ordered by the glass for $10 and under.

Finish off a satisfying meal at Olivetto with their zesty Lemon Truffle dessert or the airy Tiramisu. Olivetto’s Happy Hour runs from 3:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. daily, when any wine by the glass is $5 and appetizer prices are reduced. Gather some friends and stop in to enjoy Olivetto’s delectable Italian cuisine and wine.
