What's Brewing for San Diego Beer Week 2012

For ten days every Fall, the San Diego beer community comes together to honor craft beer during San Diego Beer Week. The kegs are being tapped and craft beer begins to gush as Beer Week takes over the county. Craft breweries have enjoyed an explosion over the last few years. With over 60 fully operational local breweries, America’s Finest City has become a haven for craft beer enthusiasts.

San Diego Beer Week is a great way to celebrate craft beer and the amazing people who make it a reality. At last count, the total number of San Diego Beer Week happenings reached an astonishing 525 events including beer dinners, festivals, tastings, classes, tours, and tap takeovers.

Although it's already more than half way into this 4th annual San Diego tradition, there are still plenty of events going on around town. Whether beer lovers are in search of a great deal or a rare beer tasting, San Diego Beer Week has something for everyone. Below is just a small sampling of the exciting upcoming events!

San Diego Beer Week ends on Sunday November 11th, with some of the best events happening on the last day. Kick off Sunday at the Best Damn Beer Shop in Downtown, where a blow out sale of up to 30% off certain bottles will be offered all day. This beer shop has an amazing selection of over 1,000 beers from across the world, so do not miss out!

South Park’s eclectically inspired restaurant, Alchemy, will be holding a Beer + Bacon Dinner Saturday and Sunday from 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Four tantalizing bacon creations, like Bacon Crack (cracker and brie wrapped in bacon), will be on the menu with suggested beer pairings.

One of the most anticipated events is on the final day of Beer Week at The Lodge at Torrey Pines from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. This special Beer Garden costs $75 and will feature pairings from 22 different breweries with luxurious dishes made by chefs from some of San Diego’s best restaurants.
