Teppanyaki dining is one of the newest forms of Japanese cuisine having been introduced in Japan in the 1940s. It is also sometimes referred to as Hibachi. The word teppanyaki come from the teppan, which means iron plate; and yaki, which means grilled, broiled or pan-fried. Kansas City's most exquisite private dining establishhment overlooks the renowned Country Club Plaza. In 1954, John and Le Roy Cascone opened a full service restaurant in Kansas City North. Table service, a full dinner menu and the emergence of Cascone's famous lasagne has occured on North Oak. Since that time, lasagne has been the single most favorite entree at Cascone's; over 2 million orders served and still one of our trademark dinners.

Zin is an eclectic, contemporary American restaurant located the crossroads art gallery district. Architecture, lighting, music and art are intended to compliment, not overwhelm the star of the show, the food. The seasonal menu foruces on freshness. The highly acclaimed food is prepared innovatively, beautifully, yet simply, allowing its true flavors to come through.

Tucked away in the heart of Kansas City's entertainment district, Californos recreates the very feel of a French Bistro, complete with dark wooden bar and tables covered with white tablecloths. On the breezy deck out back, where friends and family dine and socialize, a wrought-iron railing encloses streetside seating out front. The menu offers an intriguing blend of contemporary American cuisine and European fare.

When the Golden Ox Restauurant opened it's doors in 1949 it's purpose was to furnish a good place to dine for the ranchers and farmers who brought their livestock to the stockyards. The tradition lives on today, The Golden Ox is located on the first floor of the Livestock Exchange Building in the heart of the stockyards. Our professional staff serves the highest quality steaks and is one of the few restaurants that continues to have its steaks aged and hand cut.

For more than 30 years, The American Restaurant has been striving to set culinary standards, using talented chefs and the freshest ingredients to prepare the highest quality foods. The ever-changing menus feature seasonal fruits and vegetables, wild game, fresh seafood and beef in both familiar and creative combinations.

In 2002 award-winning chefs Michael Smith and Debbie Gold opened a restaurant that is the continuation of their culinary journey. Using only fresh, straightforward flavors from around the world, while always building upon their traditional French training, the setting, like the food, is welcoming, warm and comfortable.

The Fitzpatrick Building was originally a saloon and bordello built in 1911. During the Prohibition of the 1930s, the basement was used as a Speakeasy and meeting place. The Majestic Steakhouse opened its current location in 1993, reviving a tradition of fantastic steaks and great times!

Aixois is a neighborhood restaurant in the Crestwood shops at the corner of 55th and Brookside Boulevard. Stopping in for a glass of wine after an evening walk on the trolley trail or for a fine meal before a performance at the Missouri Rep, diners enjoy a bustling, casual atmosphere in the dimly lit dining area where broad windows look out on the activity of Brookside. Weather permitting, the covered patio is the place to be.
