Mother's Day Brunch

Nothing says “I love you” like a little bit of extravagance. What mother doesn’t love that? If you’re stressing out over the looming holiday and feel insufficient giving your mom a simple card this Mother’s Day, then maybe it’s time to really go all out this year. Dinner is usually the way to go, but this year, brunch options are making a comeback. Brunch is perhaps the most recognized Mothers Day event—it’s not quite breakfast, it’s not quite lunch, but it does come with cantaloupe and that sounds delicious to us. So, if you’re looking for a feast of this caliber, consider a few of the suggestions SanFranciscoRestaurants.com has picked out just for you!

This year on Mother’s Day, One Market Restaurant has developed a new a-la carte menu for mothers inspired by mothers (or hungry diners, whichever), which you can view HERE. This contemporary American restaurant located in the Financial District will be serving up this special occasion menu from 10:00am-3:00pm on Mother’s Day, and the selections are looking tempting. Selections such as Eggs Benedict, Spit-Roasted Prime Rib, Golden Beet & Saffron Soup, and Petaluma Three Egg Open-Faced Omelet are just a few of the dishes waiting for you at One Market Restaurant, and this award-winning, carnivorous, fine-dining eatery promises to please any family member—especially moms.

For a more formal, prix-fixe meal, Epic Roasthouse has got your covered. This popular Fog City eatery also developed a special occasion Mother’s Day menu. You might be surprised by this rustic-meets-luxurious restaurant, but this establishment’s ever-growing popularity is a force to be reckoned with. Moms can’t resist a menu with classy and healthy options, plus—Epic Roasthouse has an irresistible dessert menu with mouthwatering options to choose from.  At $40 per person, brunch is starting to sound good to us, too.

Other spots for brunch include Foreign Cinema, which is offering a special three course Mother’s Day Brunch starting at $45 per person. Foreign Cinema, located in the heart of the Mission district, has consistently impressed the critics over the years with their attention to modernist detail in their décor and cuisine. Known for their ultra-chic design and style, guests come for the ambiance just as much as they come for the food. Serving up California and Mediterranean inspired dishes is their way to go, and something light can always impress your mom’s taste buds.

For something a little cozier, Insalata’s has the answer. Their prix-fixe luscious Mother’s Day Brunch for $38 per person will be served from 9:30am-2:30pm. Featuring options like Eggs Benedict, fresh fruit, homemade pastries, and more, Insalata’s boasts a comfortable and joyful dining experience. Located in San Anselmo, this Mediterranean restaurant is known for bringing a taste of world cuisine with home-cooked flair to your table. Though not necessarily informal, Insalata’s has a relaxed atmosphere that promises a comfortable but fun time.

Ducca, an Italian restaurant in the SOMA district, is offering a chic “MOMosa Brunch!” We can only imagine what drinks will be served.  Their fabulous brunch runs early—from 6:30am-11:00am, which is perfect for the early rising mothers. Presenting innovative dishes that are both classic and contemporary, Ducca is an ideal place for foodie moms. Their breakfast options include dishes like Farm Fresh Eggs, premium meats, Country French Toast, fresh fruit, and other delightful morning staples. It’s a great way to impress your mom with some tasty additions to her special day.

Meat-free moms or guests will drool over the menu at Millennium, a restaurant dedicated to health conscious, vegetarian dishes that are aimed to please. Their special Mother’s Day Brunch is a three course prix-fixe meal, starting at $42 per person, and includes complimentary Bellini’s (a much needed glass of sparkling wine and peach puree) for all moms in attendance!  Featuring fresh home-made delectable treats like blackberry chocolate chip banana bread, strawberry cornbread, and cinnamon-sugar beignets, who said vegetarian food can’t be the most delicious of all? Millennium is a chic 5-star restaurant worthy of its title, so try something new this year. Your mom might dig the dishes!

So ditch the tacky store-bought card and show your mom you care! Start the day off with a delicious brunch with the woman that got you through the tough stuff. But think fast, because Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 8th—leaving most of us little time to prepare. Aren’t you glad we narrowed down the options for you? Just make sure that you get your reservation on, and fast. Everyone is thinking the same thing, and you don’t want to be left out of the fun!
