Mother's Day in LA

Mother's day dinner

Started over 150 years ago, Mother's Day is a celebration of appreciation that dates further back than many of us can even remember. From changing diapers to cheerleading at sports games, to never missing a birthday (even when she's got an international business meeting!), mothers are some of the most dedicated people we know. For all her patience, kindness, and love, moms deserve a little loving. Isn't it time you did something for her?

Cafe Sevilla

Time to spice it up! Café Sevilla offers something a little more Latin for Mother's Day. Featuring live Flamenco guitarists from 11:00am to 2:00pm, Café Sevilla will be offering all you can drink champagne brunch from 10 am to 2:30pm. Adults eat for $34.95 and children ages 6 to 12 eat for just $14.95. And if that's not enough spice for your Mother's special day, Cafe Sevilla will also be hosting Flamenco Dinner Shows. The first performance at 12:00pm comes with a salad, entrée and dessert $39.50, and the second performance at 6:30pm is served with a three course meal that starts with a House Salad Sevillana, a combination of citrus vinaigrette, goat cheese, tomato and cucumber. The second course kicks things up with options like Surf & Turf Duet in which filet medallions are marinated with Rioja red wine sauce and Sautéed Shrimp Flambé with hazelnut brandy, and a third course with an Andalusian Apple Tart dessert with baked apples over flaky almond crust, with fresh berries, and a sangria reduction. Café Sevilla even has a reasonably priced wine list with full-bodied Spanish reds like Tempranillo and Torre Oria. To see their menu, click HERE.

The Palm Restaurant

Mother's day doesn't have to mean cheesy cards and stuffed animals. The Palm Restaurant in West Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles is celebrating 85 years of Italian heritage and will be hosting a special three course meal. From April 1 to May 31, both locations will be featuring this new three course Italian dinner with your choice of Bone-In Rib Veal Chop Parmigiana or Nova Scotia Lobster Ravioli. Executive Chef Brent Jaegar of the West Hollywood location purchases from local farmers and purveyors for his specials, making for a very unique Mother's Day meal. And for $49 a person, and just in time to celebrate Mother's Day, The Palm Restaurant has plenty of Italian flavors to choose from. The Palm offers generous portions and attentive service, and remains an unpretentious local favorite. To check out their cocktails, desserts, and entrees, click HERE.
