Mother's Day Specials Around San Diego


Mother’s Day is fast approaching! Falling on May 12, this is a day where Mom can relax and share the love with family and friends. This year, show Mom you care by pampering her with a luxurious meal at one of San Diego’s finest restaurants. Not sure where to go? Check out the collection of restaurants below to help decide where to take Mom on her special day.

Downtown and Gaslamp Area

Acqua Al 2 will have a special 3-course menu available all day for both lunch and dinner at the price of just $45.00 per person. Bertrand at Mister A’s offers a holiday prix-fixe menu for $52.50 per person that is available for brunch between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Donovan’s of Downtown will open early for  dinner with the first seating starting at 3:00 p.m. and the last ending at 10:00 p.m.

The Cohn Group spoils moms with free entrees at Blue Point, Gaslamp Strip Club, and Indigo Grill with the purchase of two additional entrees. Another one of the Cohn Group’s ventures, The Prado at Balboa Park, offers its Famous Buffet Brunch from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for $59.95 adults and $16.95 for children ages 6-12. Children under 6 eat for free.

Upscale Italian eatery BiCE Ristorante presents a three-course menu from 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a sweet and savory crepes station and dessert buffet. Bottomless mimosas are available for an extra $8.00. Spanish tapas hot spot Café Sevilla rolls out the annual Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet available from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at $35.95 per person; featuring a build your own cupcake station!

Over at McCormick and Schmick’s all mothers receive complimentary Chocolate Truffles. For an alternative to Western cuisine, Masala Spices of India Mother’s Day brunch is $19.00 and offers a taste of the exotic.

A hop, skip, and jump away from the Gaslamp Quarter awaits La Villa Restaurant and Bar in Little Italy serving an Italian influenced brunch from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For a melodious Mother’s Day, Crossroads at House of Blues Gospel Brunch is a Southern-style buffet with live music from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at $37.50 per adult and $17.50 per child age 6-12. Children under age 6 are free. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time for every child and adult attending.  The historic Grant Grill takes part in the Mother’s Day fun with Sunday Waffle Brunch from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at $26.00 per person or $31.00 per person with unlimited sparkling wine. An a la carte menu is also available starting at 6:30 a.m.


Bombay, Hillcrest’s favorite Indian restaurant, is celebrating Mother’s Day with a fantastic buffet for only $19.00 per person. Bleu Boheme, the chic French bistro in Kensington, presents a three-course preset menu for $39.95 per person.

Point Loma/Ocean Beach/Mission Bay

The Atoll at the Catamaran Resort Annual Mother’s Day brunch buffet is available for $52.00 per adult, and $24.50 for children ages 5 to 11. A same-day cruise on the Bahia Belle is complimentary with every paid buffet. The Cohn Group’s Island Prime dishes out a three-course prix-fixe menu from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for $49.95 per person and $12.95 for children ages 12 and under. For a real treat, all moms eat free at BO-Beau Kitchen and Corvette Diner with the purchase of two additional entrees. Shelter Island’s Humphreys famed Sunday brunch buffet will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at $54.95 per adult with children (age 4-12) just $19.95. 

La Jolla/ UTC

Donovan’s of La Jolla is typically closed on Sundays but this year will be open only for Mother’s Day from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For a celebration earlier in the day, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar has a three-course brunch for $36.95 starting at 11:30a.m. Located a little closer to the shoreline, George’s California Modern presents an a la carte menu during the special brunch service running 10:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. French inspired Tapenade indulges moms with a three-course prix-fixe menu for $40.00 per person with optional wine pairing for an additional $15.00. The children’s menu is $20.00 per youth, and holiday hours are 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Roppongi, La Jolla’s outstanding Asian destination, has designed a special brunch menu for guests to enjoy. As a bonus, moms receive a complimentary SVEDKA cocktail.

East County

Terra American Bistro is hosting brunch from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a preset menu for $35.00 per person with complimentary glass of champagne or mimosa. Children age 5-12 can order off a special menu at $15.00 per child.

North County Coastal

In Oceanside, 333 Pacific boasts a three-course prix-fixe menu from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at $49.95 per person and $12.95 for children ages 12 and under. At another leading North County destination, Pacifica Del Mar, a preset three-course menu will be available 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at $37.00 per person.

North County Inland

Mille Fleur in Rancho Santa Fe opens early for the holiday at 10:00 a.m. The lunch menu will be available until 2:00 p.m., with dinner service running from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Over in Escondido, Chef Deborah Scott’s Vintana Wine and Dine lavishes moms with a three-course prix-fixe menu at $49.95 per person and $12.95 for children ages 12 and under. Special holiday hours are 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Head east to Bernard'O Restaurant in Rancho Bernardo for brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
