Taste of North P.B 2012:Help Out the Community While Eating

Ok guys. Remember your New Year's resolution to participate in a philanthropic event and you know, change the world for the greater good? Well its time to get off your butts (for lack of words) and join in the festivities at the 8th annual Taste of North P.B. Art & Restaurant Walk on Wednesdays, March 14, 2012 from 5:00pm till 8:00pm. Taste of North P.B. is a joint-effort fundraiser between Friends of Pacific Beach Elementary (FOPBE) and Friends of Pacific Beach Secondary Schools (FOBSS) that supports both PB middle School and Mission Bay High School. 100% of the money raised will be split between the three schools to be used to better educate our youth. Not only does this festival works for the greater good, it also offers participates live entertainment, music, and free food from top-notch restaurants in Pacific Beach like The French Gourmet and Table 926.

The French Gourmet and Bakery serves patrons the gastronomical delights of French cuisine. Chefs create decadent French entrees, classic hors d'oeuvres, and fresh pastries in a rustic French bistro atmosphere that is equally welcoming and cozy. A return participate to the Taste of North PB, French Gourmet is known to highlight their best and newest items on the menu, this year is no exception. Start your tasting off with a Baked-in Ham and Cheese Croissant with a side of Coq au Vin Mash Potatoes. Cap off the tasting with one of their freshly baked Mini Chocolate Eclair that are filled with chocolate mousse, vanilla, or coffee cream.

Newcomer restaurant to join in the festival, Table 926 off of Turquoise St offers a blend of Latin and Mediterranean flavors utilizing only local ingredients in their entrees. The dining room is dressed with modern furniture and décor that pairs seamlessly with its conceptual menu. Owner and Executive Chef Matt Richman takes his culinary philosophy seriously and it shows. He focus to add Latin and Mediterranean flavors to popularized dishes like street tacos and empanadas. For the festival, Richman creates Braised Lamb Shoulder Ragu paired with Creamy Polenta. The end result is a modernized tasting that will blow your mind and taste buds away.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $4 for kids (5-10years), and are limited. Purchase yours in advance to ensure a spot. Help out local schools, enjoy live music, and sample dishes from popular restaurants all at the same time. If that isn't a great deal then I do not know what is.
